KeymasterIt’s absolutely beautiful photography. And it would be awesome for “Where the Wild Things Are” , Bokeh 2 (there was shallow DOF), Airborne, or countless other themes. Just not “Sports Photography”.

Total overall votes for your three entries. Congrats to the winners, esp Ranger Joe’s excellent kayaking shot!

ParticipantHuh?
My internet’s been down again today, but yeah, what Zero said^.
If you click “sort by Total Votes” on the contest page, you’ll see all of the contestants ranked by the sum of votes for all their entries. In this case, you and kashari both got 58 votes total, which ties you for first place.
I like to look at the total votes ranking as a contest within the contest. You’ve got to have 3 strong (or 2 very excellent) entries to make it to the top of that list, but they don’t necessarily have to be the winner, as demonstrated here.

Thanks! The contest was already open to TF by the time I decided to enter after remembering I had the basketball shots from my recent trip and then decided on a horse one instead of a 3rd bball.
So even when you don’t think you have anything for a contest, try and find/shoot sometihng anyway. You never know what will happen! 🙂

That’s a shot that has a lot of feel to it, so beautiful!

So much this. I was thrilled to have managed to break the top 10–sports not being my thing, I just went and took pictures an anything sporty. That the one that did well was staged doesn’t bother me a bit. There were 20 others similar with the kids in various states of play, so I like imagining that maybe I’m getting better at identifying good composition. 🙄
Along the same lines, today’s photo excursion was all about getting stuff for ‘Where the wild things are’, out in the desert.
Hoped for a bobcat//left disappointed.
But I got other shots that will work for other contests, so to me, that’s a win. I will continue to try for wildlife that aren’t quail, rabbits, and prairie critter type things. 😉
