I had some difficulty choosing as well. Here’s some I was considering.

I chose not to use the first four because I have similiar ones in I See Your Point, Nature, Boats and Trees/A Second of Your Time, repsectively. The last one I took outside of work. I walked by the fountain, liked what I saw, went to my car and grabbed the camera and came back.

Maybe I will finally get a 2nd place finish with this theme. Soosh’s entry is just awesome.

(2nd and 9th place are all I need to have entries that finished in places 1-27.)

I like the floral eclipse, too. But there is something about it that bugs me that I can’t put my finger on. Perhaps it is the very narrow depth of field and I would like another part of the flower in focus. Was there a breeze that caused motion blur? Something about the sharpness.

It’s a cool photo nonetheless.

It was windy, and it’s hand-held with a slow telephoto lens, so lots of movement and chaos crept into it. There are a couple more of the same flowerhead and this one has more of the flower and a bit more is in focus.

Thanks. I had a few others from that series I thought of using, but I did too much channel mixing with the colors to consider them, even with the new rules.

I had some difficulty choosing as well. Here’s some I was considering.

All of them have a strong immediate impact IMO so I could see any of them in this contest. But since I have an unnatural attraction to lens flare and other light distortions, I especially like the first one. Also mood in a low light photo can be really potent and your moonlit tree conveys that quiet power well.

That’s impressive! I’d need a few more than that, like 1-6, 14, 18-20, 22-24, 26. and maybe a few more (FSM isn’t loading at the moment).

Also I’m glad to see soosh submitted the palm tree pic. That’s what started this whole theme in the first place, woo!

The voters are a fickle bunch. I’ve been really disappointed in my showing the past few contests.

I thought my palms would get a far better showing than they did, and there’s a lot of quality stuff with not a lot of votes this week.

In fact, I’m not going to ever point out any specific examples, but it’s rare that my favorites of any given contest are the crowd favorites, and there’s always something very popular that just doesn’t resonate with me at all.
