U-Man
ParticipantMan. Deciding was tough. Here are some Bees

ParticipantU-Man – as usual, it’s all good stuff. I love the stack skids pic. It probably wouldn’t work for this contest but definitely for vote whoring. The rust picture makes me pine and yearn for a macro lens.

ParticipantU-Man, seriously, you have no Bees. You should just own up to it and call them Ayes (what you post are the Aye +’s).
‘Rust’ and ‘Tar Paper’ would have been a grueling choice against what you posted.
That’s what sucks about these contests–there can be only three…

ParticipantI don’t care how the voting turns out, I’d like to publicly thank Olav for helping me decide which of my “short list” was really appropriate for the contest. I had kind of thought of saving Aluminum for the as yet unscheduled natural colorpopping contest… but it works with all truthiness for this contest. 😉 The camera said “*snort* nice aluminum there, braniac. We’ve got to get a shot of this one.” So i did.
ETA: My camera can be snarky like that. And it hasn’t any manners, either. 😯
September 9, 2010 at 1:49 am #31830Participanthey orionid, your airplane pic made me think of this one from 4-5 years ago. It’s not PC, but it is sort of funny. Chicago’s Field Museum.

Participant*snerk* I worked at the Field Museum then. You aren’t the only person who took some non-PC photos of themselves with exhibits.
September 9, 2010 at 1:52 am #31832ParticipantThanks for the nice comments. It really was difficult choosing. I had the Stack sKids all loaded up to post and decided not to because it really was vote whoring. 🙂
Overall, I’m really happy how well people ‘get it’. Good stuff all around.

HAHAHA! Awesome!
I may have been involved in a few non-pc photos myself:

I photograph it every damn time. I sort of ruled out 99% of my rust pix because of that. It’s not really a camera-made-me-do-it if it’s a consistent habit lol.
September 9, 2010 at 2:45 am #31836ParticipantI may have been involved in a few non-pc photos myself:
http://www.buckscorner.com/temp/sheep.jpgI laughed pretty loud. I’m still chuckling.
September 9, 2010 at 2:58 am #31837Participantbtw – the “Tires” pic of the gas station in my B’s was from the tiny, Wisconsin town where I do a yearly spring fishing trip. Population 200 or something. I was snapping pics of the gas station and a woman walked by. She stopped and watched me. When I looked up at her she asked,
“Uuuuummm, what are you doing?”
“Taking pictures”
“Uuuummm, what for?”
“I think it looks neat”
**blank stare with obvious incomprehension**
“It’s art”
“Really?” *shakes head and walks away*
I thoroughly enjoyed that interaction. The world has so much crap in it that it’s nice to be able to see past it sometimes.
September 9, 2010 at 3:05 am #31838ParticipantI have no clue on what will be popular this week.

‘Tis why I used the shotgun approach 😆

Me neither. But I’m happy with my submissions. I think this contest speaks to all of us who have been well and truly bitten by the photography bug. I took that picture of the boot this afternoon. When I got it into Gimp I decided it was perfect in every way 😉 except that I would have preferred the sky to be more interesting (it looks like I freaking photoshopped the sky gray lol)… so I had to change my submission choices.
