KeymasterAlthough reading back over the OP it does state no adding elements to the photo that were not in the original photo. So you may be pushing the limits there.
I say it’s ok, as this is not like a PS contest because you have to go out and shoot your own stuff.
Soosh, its your theme so?
Yeah, “original photo” is key here. If we’re allowing HDR, you’re already allowing stacked exposures, so the original photo is actually several or many photos. I can definitely see an argument for allowing elements from any or all of those exposures to be incorporated into your final image as long as they were part of the series you shot; this happens with HDR anyway. But I would love for soosh to give a more official opinion on this one.
Also, I think the description as worded would probably allow stitched panoramas, too, but I want to be sure.
We may clarify the wording a bit if need be, depending on what’s decided on these questions.

ParticipantMy feeling is that anything is pretty much allowable in this contest. That was the whole intent, that there wasn’t anything you couldn’t do.

ParticipantHow about putting more than one photo together for diptychs, triptychs or whatever they’re called beyond 3?

Or is adding the text taking it too far?I think the text is taking it too far. You allow that, and it’s basically an Illustrator contest and we’ve got swallows and pigeons and geegaws and gimcracks, and I’m not up for all that crap.

KeymasterOk I edited the theme description to clarify:
Any and all treatments not normally allowed software-wise are allowed/encouraged for this contest: artsy filters, exposure stacking/HDR, tilt-shift, stitching, etc. NOTE: No pasting or moving subjects not in the original photo(s) like a PS contest.
That should more obviously allow the things that have been brought up (exposure stacking, stitching into diptychs and triptychs, etc), while the note more clearly disallows things like text.
