On a side note: BEST FINISH EVER!
as you can tell I’m kind of proud of that. When I started doing this about a year ago, my goal was to participate every week, then I aimed for 1 photo in the top 25%, then top 20, then top 5. Next step is a win. I suspect it’s still a ways off yet, but I’ll keep on tryin’.

If you can’t set your goals high, they’re not worth setting at all. I was the same way two years back. Now I’m secretly eying Elsinore to bump her spot on this list. Ooops. Did I say that out loud? I mean, I’m only trying to beat my average each week and learn to take better photos while I’m at it.

You’ve got to do it right, though. It took me two+ years to get my first win, but other than (IIRC) 16th place, I have every slot in the top 20 now 😉

Yeah, but some of mine were gimmicks. Like the snow on the hawaiian license plate. Merely a byproduct of moving from the islands to upstate NY in the winter.
