ParticipantOk how about this attempt to compromise with everything suggested so far and actually get to a point where we can start working
Wow! Nice to see you guys picking up the ball sand running with it! Kestrana, I like your idea very much. I think this needs to be done by a small committee of farktographers, not the whole group. I wish I had the time to contribute but unfortunately I don’t right now.
Good luck! We’re all counting on you!

ParticipantUpload picture in largest available resolution to said pools.
I don’t know that flickr can handle that.
“Largest available resolution” varies on Flickr by whether or not someone has a “Pro” account…

ParticipantThat makes me sad staplermofo but if you don’t have the time, then you don’t have it. If Elsinore wants to then of course she is welcome. If no one else volunteers by the weekend, we’ll go with who we have.

ParticipantAlso I made a group on Facebook called “Farktography Book Discussion” if anyone wants to join. We’ll move our discussion there so we’ll be able to talk in real time.

ParticipantI LOVE this idea! I am down with participating with both images and words. I am available for any writing projects the editors assign. (I would offer to assist with editing, but I suck at it!) I submitted to join the FB group (Dave Bledsoe, that’s Ennuipoet in the real world). I did a Blurb book last year for my portfolio and it turned out lovely:

Let me know what I can do help.
(Writing samples available on request 🙂

ParticipantSeems good to me, though we should definitely include the low light theme because that was my only top three finish.
I think it would be better to put more emphasis on the photos, and less on text, as I think any potential buyers are more likely to be buying for the images than explanations behind the shots and history of who we are.

ParticipantThanks, ennuipoet I’ll probably take you up on that!

ParticipantFor everyone participating/observing this project, I have begun the discussion on the Facebook group, so please check in there often! You have homework! Mwuhahahaha. *cough*
If anyone needs to find the group it’s called “Farktography Book Discussion”.

ParticipantI obviously haven’t been around enough lately to participate or even help with this but I will say that you all are free to use any photo I have entered, I am available to help with any writing or editing as long as I have some time to work on it, and I will be buying at least 5 of these when they’re published! Thanks for doing all the hard work on this to those of you who have been working on it (Kestrana especially).

Well there is an easy way to fix that.

I’m pretty much 100% sure you’ll wind up in there somewhere and eventually everyone will have to sign a release for us, but I’m hoping we’ll be able to set it up online somewhere to either print and mail or electronically sign. In any case there will be plenty of notice about that and thanks for the offer! You’re still a valued farktographer even if RL is keeping you busy for the time being.

ParticipantJust a friendly reminder, if you want to participate in choosing the themes for the book, I would like your list posted to the facebook group by tomorrow 🙂
July 30, 2010 at 4:24 pm #19004Kestrana
ParticipantJust to give everyone a last opportunity to participate, if you have a top 10, 15 or 25 list of your favorite themes, give us a post here and tell us what they are.
