ParticipantI don’t mind the heavy tripod when I’m not hiking up mountainsides right before a thunderstorm…
caradoc
ParticipantI really need to get a lighter, stiffer, taller tripod.
Unfortunately, with tripods it’s a three-way trade-off.
“Light, Stiff, Cheap. Pick two.”

ParticipantThere’s a stack coming. Soon.
Ally Lansdowne and Maxx Carlisle-King in Actors Theatre Phoenix‘s production of “A Christmas Carol.”

ParticipantThere’s a story on the AZCentral website about the show finally closing.
And thanks, guys! I like shooting the theatrical stuff.

ParticipantActors Theatre of Phoenix is running down the curtain on “A Christmas Carol” after running it every year for nineteen years.
They asked me to do the production photo call for their final season.
I’m sad to see this tradition come to an end.
The show will close for the last time on Dec. 24th.

ParticipantYou mean I’ve been hitting F5 all day for nothing?
Would you settle for a left-handed Wilson putter?
😆

ParticipantThe Bag of Crap in this Woot-Off happened yesterday afternoon.
I was not allowed to even try for it. My wife says the putters have to all be gone first.

ParticipantYou know that first list makes me think I am not getting much better at photography. lol a whole lot of trying and not a whole lot of votes….well I wont learn to take better pictures if I don’t try right? I do have fun trying to get theme related pictures regardless of vote count and I do think I have been learning. I will admit I am not very good at setting up for themes like the music theme coming up. I still have exactly no pictures for that one.
ps I am not complaining in any way. nor do I feel singled out.
Keep in mind that “better pictures” and “pictures that Farkers are more likely to vote for” may not always be intersecting sets.

ParticipantWow indeed. When I first looked at them, I thought, “cool, but your standard NASA sun photos.” Then I saw that they were taken by an amateur in his backyard! Unbelievable.
Yep. I wasn’t impressed until I noted that these were not released by NASA or any other agency – but by an amateur.

Participantblack light is really good for night viewing. I prefer it over red or amber.
You mean ultraviolet light? Like I use for checking for scorpions and the like?
Be careful with that – if you’re using a UV light to see things at night, you’re exposing your eyes to a crapload of UV that’d normally be stopped down by your iris in daylight, but in the dark your eyes dilate all the way out and you get even more of it…

ParticipantMost of my shots include lighting notes on the Flickr page. Let me know if one doesn’t. Just clicky on the image for lighting notes goodness.
