ParticipantIf they use hufuf oil, they can be made much bigger.
+1 for the Dune reference.
Not sure they can patent it – prior art exists.

ParticipantI have seven boxes, six of which contain 15 putters each and the last is marked “10”. So, I guess I have a hundred of them.
caradoc
ParticipantThere will be no pictures.
I’ve received seven boxes (154 lbs) of Wilson Harmonized MLH putters (model 401L).
Yes, 154 lbs of LEFT-HANDED putters.
I’m going to print up some labels, “IN CASE OF ZOMBIE ATTACK” and sell them for $5 each as “Zombie De-Animation Tool, reusable.”

ParticipantT-minus six hours for delivery of the Pallet of Crap. Yay.

ParticipantOh, yeah. And don’t let hardware stand in your way. If you can’t afford something, think creatively – odds are something you can afford can be modified to do the same thing.
…and if you can’t figure a way to do it, post a question here in the forums.
I’ve jury-rigged a *lot* of stuff in my time for lighting. Others have made lenses out of soda cans. There’s a wealth of knowledge here. Use it.

ParticipantBeen reading Clancy lately?
Lately? No. I pointed that out to my wife when she suggested it, but we agreed that the literary reference didn’t matter to us.

ParticipantYes, I do have very large breasts.
Wait, so if you have the breasts, and you’re female, how does that make orionid the size queen?
I’m so confused…

ParticipantAny boy names picked out yet?
Yep. Jack Ryan.
Apparently the formation of the genital structures is simply the definitive indicator – there’s all sorts of other markers they look at, and grab stills and measure things right there on screen. Fetal heart rate, etc. There’s a pretty good article on fetal gender determination here which says they’re pretty accurate at 11-14 weeks:
“At 12 weeks the accuracy of gender assignment was 98.7% and at 13 weeks the accuracy was 100%. There was incorrect assignment of males as females in 3% at 12 weeks and no females assigned as males after 12 weeks.”
The doctor that looked at the tech’s work and made the determination sounded pretty confident on his statement, but we’re not going to start picking out paint colors or anything until after the next ultrasound.

ParticipantExpletive!
” … we do not ship outside of the continental United States at this time. We do not ship to Canada…”
And yet I know a couple of Canadians who regularly buy from Woot and have the stuff shipped to one of their southern friends…

ParticipantI figured their office/warehouse was in texas, and it was a partially inflated ziploc bag. Or maybe those pre-inflated bags of air for packing are made in Texas.
The bags of air come off of a machine that takes a plastic tube and heat-seals it at intervals to make air bags.
The stuff is marked to indicate that this is how it’s done.
So, since they’re shipping from Texas, those bags are indeed filled with Texas air.
caradoc
ParticipantHow many “bags of Texas air” have you wound up with?
No idea. That’s one of many Woot memes I’ve never gotten involved with…

ParticipantI dunno about flair buttons, but I got a pair of Star Trek items in one of my Bags.
I usually get my Bags of Crap during a Woot-Off between 2 and 4PM Mountain Standard (GMT -0700). I’ve only gotten a couple at the regular nightly Woot turnover.
I still have the watch I got (a Casio Sea-Pathfinder) from my first Woot back in March of ’05.
caradoc
ParticipantI think you’ve misread something.
The flashing lights aren’t “little.” During a Woot-Off, they sell item after item all day long instead of just one item for the day.
A Bag of Crap might be the item for the day (if they want to take the day off, because it’ll sell out in seconds and set their servers on fire…) or it will more likely be an item during a Woot-Off, in which case you’ll want to be quick on the draw when the previous item sells out.

ParticipantPast “Bags of Crap” that I’ve received have included things like 18 mini-tripods – which do nicely to hold flashes in weird places, or 20-some-odd sets of earbuds sized for kids, which made great stocking stuffers last year.
For $8, it’s pretty cheap entertainment. I’ve gotten Bags of Crap eight times in the last four years… and since each one includes some kind of “bag,” whether it be a laptop bag, a weird Daiwa fishing bag, or a Samsonite point-and-shoot camera bag, it’s rarely a total loss for me. I think one of the Bags of Crap was entirely useless, but in each of the other cases I’ve come away with at least one item that made it worth the $8.
