ParticipantThe drivers side of your car didn’t get the same lighting. Great shot though!
I know, planned it that way. Trying a little rembrandt lighting on the sheet metal.

ParticipantIt didn’t crash, it was killed. 🙁 We may be down, but we’re not out.
Do what? Who, or what, would do such a thing?

ParticipantThanks Veruca. I realized after the fact that I posted in teh wrong part of the forums, sorry about that. Today was fun. My photographer turned me loose this afternoon with his Fiju 6×7 and the Phase One back. That light is four 2k Arris on the cove and the flying lightbox for the bike. I wanted to keep it simple.

ParticipantYou people are phenomenal photographers. Excellent work on this week’s contest. No love from me, I spent last night getting tattooed. I’ll see what I can do for next week.

ParticipantIf the photos of the people on the staff page are anything to go by, you should have interesting bosses and co-workers. They look like they don’t take themselves too seriously, which is usually pretty nice.
Definitely. It’s a pretty laid back studio. It’ll be fun, I’ll keep you posted

ParticipantToo bad about your Minolta gear, I thought they were the only ones who nailed the ergonomics. I hated getting rid of my 600si.
Tell me about it. My Maxxum 7 fit me like a glove. I went from an x-370 to Maxxum 7000 and 9000 bodies, the 9xi and finally the 7. I was always Minolta’s lone cheerleader around here. I loved their hardware, their meters and theie ergos. So I waited…and waited…and waited and I thought to myself that such a long wait would surely unleash such a feat of Minolta wierdness and fine engineering on the market that it would strike Canon and Nikon dumb. Then, there it was! The Maxxum 7D, the camera of yesterday today! Sheesh, a four year wait for a camera that was less capable than the 10D and the 20D was on the market already. I sold the 7 (and I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t cry a little when I shipped it away) and traded all my Minolta glass for a new tattoo. I went Canon and never looked back.

ParticipantI shoot the 20D and came to Canon from Minolta (under duress). I love my 20D. The reason I went with Canon is the CMOS chip. The CMOS that Canon uses sees better in the dark than the CCD that Nikon has. This was a deciding factor for me because I shoot a lot in very dim environments (bars, streets, etc.) with no flash. The CMOS produces less artifacts and less grain and collects more light than the CCD in my experience. I just wish Minolta would have given me a good chip in a Maxxum 9 body as opposed to the Maxxum 7D “The Camera of Yesterday Today!” I’m reduced to trading my old Minolta glass for tattoos ’cause nobody wants to buy ’em. My two cents.

ParticipantToo late, but I’d say either Minolta’s new Maxxum5D or the D Rebel by canon.

ParticipantHey y’all. Does anyone know when tonight’s contest is going live for us poor liter rabble? I’ve got three good pics that are an example of thinking around a corner but keeping within the spirit of the theme 🙂

ParticipantWelcome aboard Full Custom. I love your fark handle by the way. It always makes me think of Horton Heat. 😀
That’s sorta where I got it. It’s actually my second handle. The first was “The Vincent”, but I lost access to it so now I’m the Rev. Not only do I love your handle, but I love your work. You’ve got one helluva eye.
