Nah, mofo – like I said – this self promotion is shameless. 🙂

Hah, you’re welcome to it; I was trying to think of something clever and that’s the best I could do on short notice. 🙂

Miller I think I do the same thing as Elsinore and just use the share button in the lower right hand corner of the grey area around the picture. Then you just want to make sure you have html selected for the code option and html rather than embed selected at the bottom of the box and you can just copy the code into fark.

Hmmm, interesting. That’s what I thought I was doing and it kept bouncing my images. I will head over to the scratchpad in a minute and see if I can get it to work. Thanks!

Ok I think I’ve got it now. It doesn’t work if I use the TF “Formatting Buttons” comment box but if I switch over to the “HTML Buttons” comment box or if I hit the “Raw HTML” button on the “Formatting Buttons” comment box then it works. That’s… confusing, but at least I know how to make it work now.

Ok so I see the Flickr changes and I see all the chatter in here about not being able to post. I found a way around it this week but it isn’t ideal because the picture no longer pops and that’s technically against Flickr’s rules. I noticed several of you were using flickr and still getting the photo to pop to your Flickr page (looking at you, Elsinore). Any chance one of you can post up a quick tutorial for an old dog that wants to learn a new trick?

    Hi mofo!

Congrats on the win, guine; and it’s nice to see you again too!

Elsinore, thanks for the kind words in the thread. I hadn’t been back here or on Fark for a looooooong time but I still think about this contest at least once every month. I miss this. I logged in on a whim last week and saw the 500th thread prompt and figured it was just meant to be. 😀

Also, holy crap 500 weeks of farktography! That’s nuts!

It’s nice to be back! Hopefully I will be able to fall into some kind of routine this time. I already have some plans for next week. 🙂

I did figure out a way of posting but it’s definitely not as elegant as it used to be. Oh well, life is hard.

Oh hey. How’s it going everybody? Does this still work like it used to?

*attempts to post photo to contest thread*

No. No it does not. Alrighty then.

Gardamgit who let millera9 back in these contest? 😉

*shrug* I am totally flabbergasted by the results so far, Kes. I threw that shot in there because I didn’t have anything else; I even titled it “Obligatory” on flickr because it was so cliched.

As always the voters and their votes cannot be explained.

    4. Turning the brightness all the way up on my display helped a lot.

Is there a particular lower limit that you were thinking of for what constitutes a “high shutter speed” Barracuda?

I hate to be a narc this soon after returning, but isn’t Mopsy‘s rubber gator shot (2012-07-11 08:04:57 PM) a repeat from the reptiles theme ( http://www.fark.com/comments/3981353/Theme-of-Farktography-Contest-No-182-I-for-One-Welcome-Details-rules-in-first-post-LGT-next-weeks-theme?tt=voteresults0 )? (TF only).

Good memory, but it looks to be a different frame. Enlarging the previous image to the same size as the current image and flicking back and forth shows several minor differences, the most obvious of which is the position of one of the blades of grass:

On another note, welcome back. You were mostly gone by the time I got here, but your mark remains on the stats & rankings and it’s always good to see some of the “pioneers” around here.

Good call on the different frames! I never would have noticed that.

I would hesitate to call myself a “pioneer”. My biggest mark on farktography continues to be having tied a naked Barbie doll to a set of cooking chopsticks over a pot of boiling water. Nonetheless, thanks for the kind words. I’m hoping to come back to a reasonable level of participation.

Really like the BiblioStats site, by the way! I think you had just started sharing it the last time I logged in here. It looks great now and captures a lot of very interesting data. Thanks for doing that.
