It’s just that some of his more amazing photographs are things like utility poles littered with staples and nails, rusty culverts, old keys…. things that I wouldn’t even think to photograph but yet, I find myself voting for every week and wondering if I’ll ever have that sort of “Aha!” clarity.

As a general rule, the people LOVE staples.

There’s a fall festival going on this weekend.
Anyone have advice on not looking like a creepy pedophile?
Can you just walk around these places taking pictures of people and hoping to avoid conversations? Most people in my neighborhood speak limited English, and my Spanish is only good enough to assist my pantomimes for tacos.

Is it possible your lens and/or filter is getting fogged up and/or catching light from the side?

I had very similar problems when I was holding the front my lens steady with one hand, the camera with another, and focusing with another.

I have no problem with 100 shots of dust. (Possibly because I wanted to post my cat sitting on a pile of milk jug rings.) Besides, it’s awfully close to the contest to add restrictions.

Heh, my first entry to this one is pretty obvious:

Empty out the lens shelf. And then realize that I have 3 Pentax mount 50mm lenses. (Lensbabies, 50mm f/1.4, and an ancient 50mm f/2 manual lens)
