This was a hard theme, I thought I had a good idea and was going to hold a glass bottle in front of a boat to have a boat in a bottle, unfortunately the bottle was way to thick and you had no idea that there was a boat there.

Yeah, I think you would need a piece of colored plastic or glass in the shape of a bottle in front of a ship. Too late now for this contest.

I tried using a dry erase marker on a filter. Wildly unsuccessful.
Initially I went for a giant mouth that I was going to have eating a stapler. @#$%ing nightmare of smudges. Then I tried going for black smoke coming out of someone’s ear, again, FAILURE. Then I just tried everything and anything from polka dots and stripes to glooped on softball sugar.
I mean, I’m sure it could work well, just like I’m sure I could take shots like soosh. IT IS PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE DAMN IT!

I bet someone else on here could run off, try it, succeed, and post within 5 minutes. THEN I WILL CRY.

For those who can’t read Japanese:
    ニーコル is Nikkor
    ニコン is Nikon
    ミノルタ is Minolta
    キャノン is Canon
    シグマ is Sigma

The 17-35mm f/2.8 (L?) looks like a great deal, but I must be misunderstanding something.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-number

1 1/3 stops according to them.
But depending on how smokey the places are and how fast the people move you might more than make up for it by being closer and using slower shutters.
I have an 8mm and a 12mm, and man, lemme tell you, you have to be right on top of people.

Do you have the kit lens or anything that wide to see how much of a difference being that close makes?

Compromise: bugs and staplers going at it.
But those bugs better be sexy…

I would love more stuff like this.
Preferably with a forum, with each section getting its own thread.
Even just a step-by-step, thought-by-thought build up of how you get your shots for farktography each week.
There’s a lot of general guides out there, but specifics are few and far between.

    Also, staplers.
