Zero – Thanks. I was debating what to enter for my snow entry. I wish I could have captured her expression from the other side. She was dismayed and insisted that Daddy rebuild it.
January 27, 2011 at 3:40 am #37110ElsinoreKeymasterbtw – the farktography welcome page doesn’t have the greenlight link yet.
/I’d do it if I could. But I can’t.
Whoops, sorry about that. It’s fixed now.
January 27, 2011 at 3:52 am #37111LeicaLensParticipantI too like the puking rainbow. Lots of snow in this one. Wonder how that’s going to affect Old Man Winter?
A couple of Bees:

Hopefully, no one will have a single shot of white fluffy cold stuff at all, then I might have a chance with my (not yet taken but contemplated) entries. 😆
//not gonna happen.
The b’s, for (mostly) good reasons:

and thanks, Leica!

The body language says a lot, but yeah, I can imagine she must have had a memorable facial expression.
LeicaLens, re – Wind: http://flic.kr/p/9draXp – that’s an interesting …
… what the heck IS that thing?ravnostic, that cloud X would be perfect for alphabetography!
Oh yeah, I had bees too:
wind (I figured too subtle for Fark, feel free to correct me) http://www.flickr.com/photos/42385982@N06/5390631167/clouds (too much competition in this area) http://www.flickr.com/photos/42385982@N06/5378990412/in/photostream/
And no shortage of snow shots; a ton on my flickr, including several here http://www.flickr.com/photos/42385982@N06/sets/72157625716098359/

It’s currently green.
January 27, 2011 at 5:26 am #37116CauseISaidSoParticipantZero, between your “Rod the Bod/Every Picture” comment and that old SNL bit, you’re really dating yourself (and me too for knowing the references). Making me laugh, sure, but dating yourself… 🙂 And I really like both of your first two B’s.
Speaking of B’s, mine are here. Got one of the ugly side of the ice storm and a couple of a hailstorm that forced everyone in the neighborhood to have to replace their roofs.

I’m not a Tfer (what am I…liter?) and as soon as I posted here and refreshed over there it was there. So apologies. I’m assuming it’s green for total farkers first?
January 27, 2011 at 5:38 am #37118CauseISaidSoParticipantFellow liter here, barriers. And yes, it goes green for the TF’ers 4 hours before it does for us, although I’m told that voting isn’t allowed until it hits the main page.

You mean the big green thing flapping around? It was an awning they put up to keep the sun off them. The ladies were there to watch the gliders (a shot of which went into my “A’s”.
We were up near Mt. Aso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Aso) which is actually the remains of a big Caldera. Quite unusual weather, in that it was warm enough to be hot, but because we were so high up the wind was pretty strong.
Hot and windy; coming from Britain, that is not something I am used to. Well, except for when my older brother decided to play Forced Dutch Ovens, but that’s another story 😯January 27, 2011 at 6:25 am #37120barriersParticipantFellow liter here, barriers. Thanks for clarifying CauseISaidSo. Got my posts up, my fark handle’s meer markt. Hope you enjoy. This was a fun theme!
Pretty sure I voted for all of yours…but I’m not sure about this yet..can I only vote once and that said, should I have waited for more entries to come in before voting?
January 27, 2011 at 6:38 am #37121CauseISaidSoParticipantI like your Libertad shot, barriers. And thanks much for the votes!
You can vote as many times as you want up until the contest closes sometime early Sunday morning, but only once per photo. So as they say in Chicago, “vote early and vote often.” 😉
January 27, 2011 at 10:54 am #37122ravnosticParticipantThere’s some really nice entries this week (I just love weather pictures.) I’m kinda dissappointed that a couple that I REALLY like only have one vote thus far (but I haven’t voted–and it’s way early yet.) They include Zero‘s ‘Let it snow’ (effective use of blur), mason‘s raindrops on a window at 500mph (great color), Uranus‘s kid in the snow (good use of depth), and Lovesandwich‘s fog on the ocean (nice proportions.)

Yeah, I was surprised to see Zero‘s Let it Snow had only a vote or two. There are a lot of snow pictures, which may be pary of the reason, but that one has a lot going for it. Uranus‘s child in the snow picture was another I expected to see higher up (the other two I can’t recall offhand).
Mind you, it’s still early days yet. -
