Thanks, Elsinore!
May 1, 2008 at 9:31 pm #15773bobrobertsParticipantHey, all –
I just noticed that my entry for this week is no longer being displayed, and instead has the tag “(deleted: Broken image)” next to my username. It was up as of this morning and the link to the original is still valid, so I’m not sure what happened.
Any moderators or fark-savvy people have any suggestions for a quick fix? Do I need to send a fark-back to someone? The html of my original entry is below:
Gobi Desert – Mongoliajekxrb: Thank you very much for that compliment….that made my day. I’m humbled (and very lucky to have been to some interesting places)….

I love the leg jutting out to the side of the bug on top. Makes him look like he’s really into it…haha
October 24, 2007 at 11:24 pm #13845bobrobertsParticipantsoosh:
That’s a beautiful photo, and I wouldn’t balk if you used it in a contest. In my mind, as long as it’s something that could be achieved with normal film, I’m okay with it. Super-manipulated photos just aren’t fair, in my opinion, because not all of us have the time or ability to “massage” an image to create what we’d like to see.
Edited to add: Ha….linguine beat me to the punch
October 24, 2007 at 3:09 am #13840bobrobertsParticipantThanks for the opinions….I still haven’t decided yet whether to use it or not, but I definitely see both sides to it and my thoughts echo both of Elsinore’s posts. On one boobie it’s clearly “art” (and in a public place, no less), yet on the other boobie I can see how some people might feel uncomfortable having something like that up on their screens at work. On a third boobie, though, if someone is looking through photos on Fark while at work, they shouldn’t be all that surprised to see things that are a little borderline. (And if they are surprised, they probably shouldn’t have been surfing Fark while at work anyway.)
I’ll decide at the last moment. I’m sure there will be plenty of other boob shots to take its place if I opt not to use it, though. 🙂

October 23, 2007 at 9:43 pm #13834bobrobertsParticipantI’m not sure I even want to use this one, but I was hoping I could get a ruling from you all as to whether this is SFW or not:
Thoughts? It was in a public place in Prague, so it can’t be too terrible, can it?

October 18, 2007 at 2:25 am #13756bobrobertsParticipantHey, Elsinore — you wouldn’t by chance have a 1680×1050 version of your Storm Clouds shot, would you? Cuz me rikey rikey.
October 18, 2007 at 2:20 am #13755bobrobertsParticipantWow everyone!
Amazing shots!I am in awe of your 2007-10-17 08:02:11 PM entry. Kick. ass. photo.
October 11, 2007 at 8:44 pm #13721bobrobertsParticipantI’ll be designing mine for QXGA, 2048p x 1536p, and THAT’S IT. And boy will that macro shot of my testicles look grand!
But seriously, I’ll probably just go with the resolutions mikemikeb mentioned.
October 4, 2007 at 5:04 pm #13829bobrobertsParticipantYou mean like — a pair of something which, because there are 2, there is a synergy of some kind?
October 4, 2007 at 1:50 am #13418bobrobertsParticipantWell, it doesn’t really say tourist to me. I’d imagine you’d find a better use for it in some other theme.
You’re right — I guess that’s why I didn’t enter it tonight. I really wanted to, though, because I hate this town!
October 4, 2007 at 1:30 am #13416bobrobertsParticipantJebus, I have to move away from Richmond, VA. Looking at the entries tonight makes me realize what a dump this place is. Thankfully it’s not my true hometown.
p.s. Quick question for you all……would I have gotten mod-spanked tonight if I’d posted this for one of my entries? It’s not a tourist attraction but it is here in Richmond, and it’s such a splendid scene depicting what this place means to me: http://www.pbase.com/artyler/image/86651303.jpg
September 27, 2007 at 2:31 am #13378bobrobertsParticipant…stuff…
How did you think up thumbtack sushi? That is so non-linear. My brain cannot get from A to B. Genius.
I’ve been going through a sushi phase lately ever since finding a great place here to buy sushi-grade fish. (I’m finally learning how to make it at home.) I’d seen the thumb tacks at the dollar store but bought the dog food instead for the “Dog food and Geritol” pic.
I’d been thinking about making dog food sushi for my second entry, but opted for the thumb tacks instead because they were a little easier to work with and didn’t stink so badly. The roll was a pain to make, though — I made a basic cucumber roll, pulled the cucumber pieces out with tweezers (being careful to retain the original form) and then stuffed them with the tacks.
September 27, 2007 at 1:26 am #13375bobrobertsParticipantmore than anything, i was grateful to have an office door i could close so i could take the photos at lunch today.
Haha…props for actually setting those shots up at work!
