ParticipantIf you’re serious, have a chat with Don Giannatti over at SteelID.
Tell him John G. sent you. 😉

ParticipantHah! I’ve already had that offer… in a New York-style deli… From an elderly guy.

ParticipantSelf-imposed weeknight limit. I work 5AM to 3PM, then watch the baby while the wife does her stuff in the afternoon (which means I can’t start driving until 5PMish, usually) leaving me about 3 hours if I go out.

ParticipantIf you happen to pass through the Phoenix area, I’ll stand you to a beer.

ParticipantI’ll be down in Tucson on Saturday – pretty good chances. But I don’t see much happening tonight or tomorrow within 50 miles of Phoenix.

ParticipantYeah… that’d be why I didn’t go up the hill past Four Peaks that night. 😉

ParticipantYeah, um… I think I mentioned the boots, hat, and flashlight – right? Where did you run into the hail? I was only out for about an hour or so last night, hit the turnoff for Sugarloaf/Sycamore Creek from 79.
Edit: A few years ago, I almost stepped on a rattlesnake getting out of the car. Since then, I look… carefully.

ParticipantThe shot I posted is from just behind the initial “wall.” Lightning struck somewhere off to the right and set my trigger off while I had my eyes closed…

ParticipantAwesome! I’ve looked at that one myself before, but I’m not sure if I’d use a macro enough to justify it.
Just because a lens is a “macro” lens doesn’t mean that’s all it’s good for.
I use my 90mm “macro” lens more for portraiture than for bugs…
