I’d like to add my welcome and moral support to you Lenny. If learnin’s what your after, you’re in the right place. I’m suffering from time deficiency currently but I hope to be back in the mix after September. The no pressure (read friendly) competetion has really helped me improve my work in a very short period of time. On reflection, it has acted to train me to look at each photograph more critically both in the field and during processing. Here’s to your own rewarding experience.

It may have gotten bigger since you were here (therefore more light pollution), still if you get out of town a ways it gets better. Not Davis mountains better but certainly a useable sky for amateurs.

I sure do wish this had come up while I was living in DFW… one of my offices was in Granbury, and I always loved driving out there at night. Great place for a star party.

Bring the 70-300. You will regret not having the reach.

    Seconded,… All in favor?

Got it. Still time challenged right now (no photos from me this week) so I will re examine my measuremnt method when I can.

Maybe this is a difference between EE and EF-S lenses. I have some “red dot” lenses but I’m going to be tied up for the next week or two so I may have trouble finding time to remeasure a different lens until then.

On another note, anyone want to opine on selections for my third? I’m torn between a MIG-17F, car jump #1, or car jump #2. TIA

Crop that dark corner out and use the MIG. (IMHO,FWIW,OMGWTFBFFBBQ)

Yeah, I had a few killer ideas but RL is killing me. Can’t see myself making anything happen in time.

That’s a good question. If we need to, we can make a graphic with the non-changing Farktography rules in it, that we would just post after the pertinent weekly information.

Yes, but would the graphic itself have to comply with Farktography rules?

    /Why yes, I am a smart *ss

One more question. By any chance, does anyone know the angular specifications for the bayonnette mount for EF lenses?

    Hey Yoyo,

Sorry for the delay, stupid real life etc,…

Hopefully I have interpreted your request correctly, if not let me know.
These measurements were aligned visually which should meet your 1 degree tolerance.

Starting with the white registration mark at 0 degrees:

    28.36 deg:

    73.31 deg (first electrical contact):

    90.00 deg:

    157.19 deg:

    212.42 deg:

    272.58 deg:

    325.47 deg:

Were you using a trigger for those strikes or just capturing them “statistically”?

Hey Yoyo. I didn’t have time to go to the shop tonight but I found this:

    http://www.truetex.com/topcon-fundus.dwf

There are numerous DWF -> DWG converters out there that should handle it (Any DWF to DWG Converter is one).

    Found this at:

The ISP at my house uses open DNS, I’m thinking that (and not the browser) is the source of error as I tried it just now at work and got through just fine. To what accuracy do you need the data? I have Canon gear and can make measurements in a machine shop it if it will help.
