Of course the other nice thing, in Raw I have recovered some shots I thought were just too bad to use

I do most of my shooting in RAW, then pick only the best shots to PP. It just takes time to tweak the color, sharpness, contrast etc to get everything to its best look. as such I have thousands of orphan raw shots on my drives… BUT i can go back and grab them if I ever need them

same here .. stop down so I dont blow out the clouds, and click off 15-20sec frames one after another till I get lucky.

Hmm.. Would stone mountain be disqualified? Its a Really big Rock, largest single piece of exposed granite east of the Mississippi. BUt it has one BIG carving on the face.

I have the 18-55 Kit lens and a Sigma 70-300 APO macro lens. I want the 50mm f1.8 by canon, supposed to be an incredibly good lens and less than $100

If I had a more Fundage Id start going for IS lenses…
