ParticipantFor some reason this puts the Pink Floyd Money song in my head.
Haha, I was trying to get the song in my head, but instead I got “For the Love of Money” by the Ojays. Funny how the brain works. 😉
So how is veruca tonight? Any idea yet when this thing is going to go green? Green, green? Woohoo, it’s going to be a pretty thread I just know it!

ParticipantBeautiful!

ParticipantThey’re gorgeous. Just hang on to them. I’m sure they will fit in with another theme.

ParticipantFirst of all, I like the photo just fine the way it is. The focus is right on his/her beautiful eyes and face.
I’ll explain this as best I can to the best of my knowledge. That’s not saying much though since I mostly run willy nilly and rely on intuition or luck. 🙂 Here goes: The smaller the number of your f stop, the larger the aperture will open. This will allow the most light in, but it will also shorten your depth of field. If you increase your f-stop to say, f8 or f11 more of what you see in the viewfinder will be in focus. Just remember that the aperture will not open as large so you will need to slow down your shutter speed to allow for more light. If the lighting is good you should be able to shoot it without a tri-pod. I don’t know what the lighting situation was for the photo, but I would imagine you wouldn’t need to go to a shutter speed any slower than 200 if you stick to an f-stop of f8, which I think would work for what you wanted. Good luck, and just shoot, shoot, shoot!

ParticipantWOW you guys! Fan-freakin’-tastic. By morning this thread will almost be too much to take. It’s really kind of overwhelming! 😀

ParticipantNight night Idle and Monkey. I have got to see Horton Heat one of these days…
Too funny veruca. I haven’t had them in so long I had no idea they had so many different marshmallows!
I’m going to hit the couch for a few, and take a load off of my poor back…

ParticipantI love your Lucky Charms photo! I swear to bob I considered buying some, but I knew I would probably eat them all in one sitting. I was also going to go with a shot of the whole bowl. I like your idea better. 🙂

ParticipantBirds of a feather, GalleyWench… Same idea on the spider web.
I checked out your spiderweb in the large size, and I’ll be the first to admit that yours is a better image. 🙂

ParticipantSo I’m looking for some used Maxxum lenses – specifically a 50mm either 1.4 or 1.7 and I’m wondering where good places to buy online might be. So far I’ve looked at KEH, B&H (whom I love but they are out of stock of what I want) and eBay (sigh). Any other recommendations?
I bought a nice cheap wild angle for my 35mm from Cameta Camera on E-bay, and I don’t have any complaints. YMMV of course. It’s cheap, but new, and since I’m so rough on my equipment and only practicing it works for me. They do have a a good inventory of better stuff too though, and the customer service and shipping time was great. 🙂
Pffft. In preview I see you said used. I can’t remember if they have used or not…

Participantsorry – i posted it because someone in a previous topic had asked that someone post a link so it was easier to find once it went green.
which will be at midnight, fark time.
ummm…that was a lot less snotty in my head. sorry!! 😳
Heh, it didn’t sound snotty to me at all, and I’m pretty damn sensitive! 😛

ParticipantI’m looking forward to your entries schnee, and I don’t vote until late Thursday morning!
/Next week will be my last as Tfer for a while. Just taking a break…

ParticipantNot that it matters all that much, but I think a weekend day will be really bad when the weather starts getting better. Anyway, I voted for keeping it on Wednesday. I guess we’ll see tonight when more people have a chance to vote.

ParticipantThanks for the great info Sleeping. We now have a separate subject for the darkroom in the forum. I’m pretty new at developing and printing, and still need some equipment. It’s pretty tricky making prints without a timer. 🙄
I’m “on the road” at the moment and I’m stuck with dial up for the time being, but I know I will have darkroom questions once I can finally settle down again. -
