Egad – I just checked my photo on the monitor at work and I’m so disppointed. At home there was plenty of detail visible…even the leaves on the trees along the fence, etc. Here it just looks like a blob of black with a couple of dots of light and a splash of green. Is that the general effect for everyone else?

Yeah, I was definitely hoping for a human-based contest, but I suppose I didn’t *exactly* specify that, so meh, we’ll let the voters choose. The one with the dog wasn’t what I was expecting either, but it’s blasting everyone out of the water in votes, so seems people like it.

I’m shocked to see it get so many votes. (I posted it because it was the only shot I had that fit the theme…and it was just cute enough that I didn’t think it would be embarrassing to post. 😕 )

Yugoboy’s Artist, U-man’s Dad & Daughter, and Kestrana’s Sunset Viewer are my favorites and far, far superior photos…

Yet another sky-related inquiry…are reflections of the sky acceptable? (I have a body-of-water shot and though the reflected sky isn’t the main subject of the photo, it does appear in one corner.) ❓

You managed to come up with three phrases and convey them all quite clearly. I only managed a single entry this week and was told by a friend that “14 ‘carrot’ gold” wasn’t nearly obvious enough. 🙂

I don’t usually post here in the forum but just had to say that U-Man’s “gilding the lily” was not only inspired but an absolutely gorgeous photo – it was my hands-down favorite this week. 🙂
