I’m lost here. Could someone give an example for this theme?

    Heres some fail picture examples

Or you could always just check out the failblog, it looks rather promising for ideas – http://failblog.org/

For as much trouble as we have predicting voting results I have to admit I just found one strange consistency. Over the summer I entered this picture

And it got 22 votes to come in 16th

Then this week I entered this picture

And it also got 22 votes to come in 16th

The gallery and contact links at the top don’t seem to do anything for me. But I do like the front page and the main picture is great.

I think photoshopping would be more fun. Adding text is pretty simple so its not like we’d be adding some big hurdle in terms of software use to give anyone an advantage there.

Are we photoshopping these captions into the pictures or just posting normal pictures and typing the caption above/below?

I’d say the second one is my favorite. I agree a different crop would help the forth one, maybe having the points meet somewhere around where the bottom third and right third of the image meet.

    Well, for better or worse…

Thats my motto for a lot of these contests.

So I guess this would probably be a bad week to post a B&W image?

You never know with fark voters, people could go hey thats neat and different and vote for it. I wouldn’t pick a picture based solely off of how I think voting could possibly go though.

My 2 entries this week will come from scans of old school photos I took with a 1972 Kodak Instamatic unless we agree that rainbow colored objects are ok :/ which we can totally do by all means, I just wish I knew how to clean the photos up more because naturally they aren’t the best clarity. But, they are really cool.

If the photo is focusing on the rainbow colors on the object I’d think that would be ok since it would be along the lines of the postesses color drop in water.

Sorry for my tardiness…my daughter’s 7th birthday is today, so we were celebrating. 7 years…le sigh….

My wife’s 40th is today. I set up a surprise. Her folks came here to watch the girls for a few days and we are off to Chicago for a grown-up weekend. Big points. Plus…there’s the whole grown up weekend thing. Win-win for U-Man.

While in the Windy city I want to shoot some sort of night-time city photo. Like this one – http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs43/f/2009/114/5/1/Chicago_Skyline_by_msog.jpg . Any suggestions on where to go? Other than up.

I’ve never been up any of the big towers in Chicago, but I do know that if you go up the formerly sears tower you want to go to the restaurant and buy a drink for the cost of the ticket to get to the observation level which is 1 floor lower.
