ParticipantYay me!
Got it on the very first try. Damn that thing moves fast. Will save posting it for astrofarktography, or you can find it on my FB or G+ page.

Participant“Last image © Russell Vallelunga 2013” Looks like you were at least attributed.
I would start with a polite email pointing out that it is polite to ASK before they use a photo. Where I went from there would depend on their reply. It IS a bit annoying to have THEIR copyright warning splashed all around when they are using yours without permission.
Yeah, I emailed them before I left for work. I asked that they either accredit me, or remove the photo (I was reasonably nice about it). 😉

Copyright Scripps Media? WTF? Them’s fightin’ words! Not even a photo credit (I don’t mind the ‘little’ bloggers so much, but ABC news? Suggestions? (mine is the third image, though a smaller version of it).
//cool link; I’ll use this often!

ParticipantIt’s a change of pace to have three new-ish photos; all were taken within the past month and two within the past week! For reference, if you recognize my tree-with-benches shot, it’s the same scene, but a more recent picture (yesterday, in fact) as used in “Parks”

ParticipantThank God DST is back!! I can actually post without being pressed by slow work computers and limited time!! Yay!!!

ParticipantMore I look, more I like 3. The DOF from waist to face is perfect, the bokeh flowers enhance, against a further background that doesn’t destract. If I were the subjects, I’d be really happy with that one.

Participant3, 2 (agree on the pipe, and that smile in one rules it out. Completely.) Congrats on first efforts!!

ParticipantGet comfortable with being uncomfortable pulling out your camera in unusual situations.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to show off more than 2-3% of what I’ve captured, but that 2-3% is worth showing off (imho, others may disagree). This, only for me it’s more like 1%. But that one % I’m REALLY proud of. And it’s worth the other 99% to get it.

ParticipantI’ve done the 6×12; it does duck out life. However, the pay is good, when you can get it, and worth it for short bursts at a time.

ParticipantLightroom and Photoshop are apparently your friends. You’ve processed this very nicely.

ParticipantQuick question; what about silhouettes the look like shadows?

(wouldn’t use this particular one again, but have other ideas with the same technique; also don’t know how it would play with the voters)
