Participantthanks, soosh.

ParticipantBasically I get the camera in motion tracking my subject, and slowly squeeze a shot off- the same principle as firing a rifle, the release should be a bit of a surprise to you. Note that i deliberately used a slower-than-optimum shutter speed to force the blurring.

ParticipantSpeaking of things to keep track of, my web hosting provider is having a bit of scheduled maintenance Friday. According to them:
The upgrade can take up to an hour and will occur on October 24,
2008, sometime between 12 am and 6 am Central Time.Apparently my web space will be down at that time. Since I host my Farktog photos there, will this screw me in the next contest?

Participantwoo, I’ve moved up in the world.
Is there an echo up there at the North Pole?

Participantre: the Participation Profiles: I’d posit that using the bar part of the graph to denote the number of entries is a suboptimal use of resources. Perhaps the number of votes received could go there, rather than a variable that has only 4 possible values (0 to 3).
SilverStag
ParticipantI seem to have completely horked the Participation Profiles as well. What the heck was I thinking…
Yeah, I can’t read mine at all now.
I’m not sure whether I’m calculating correctly or not, but I thought I should have moved into Ultra… but I’m pretty poor at arithmetic sometimes. Is that code still working?

It seems of reasonable quality at this point, I’ll find a way to break it if there’s a weak spot. So far I’m pretty happy with it.
It’s *very* stiff, and will couple vibration from the ground to the camera: see http://www.flickr.com/photos/pjern/2936772379/ for details of how I found out.SilverStag
ParticipantI thought about posting the Photography building and then having a link with something like, “And here is where the Farktographers show off their stuff”. Then link to the Swine & Sheep building.
Get a little better pic of that one and we’ll get someone to Photoshop it into “Farktography” 🙂

ParticipantI always wanted to see someone make a Mr. Peanut out of those things…

ParticipantAgree… Mardi Gras counts
SilverStag
ParticipantThat was my experience with Camera Raw (Nikon’s software notoriously s.u.c.k.s)- The only filters I use now are ND , Grad, and CP.
SilverStag
ParticipantMost of the time I leave mine on auto as well… but there are times when I deliberately skew it (uneven lighting, mixed lighting) one way or the other. Small adjustments I do in post, usually in camera raw.
SilverStag
ParticipantI do shoot raw- every time. But I do try to get it right as much as I can for the time that I will forget I’m not shooting raw 🙂

ParticipantIt’s OK, mopsy. Better to participate (it helps your stats on the FSM).
