ParticipantI have a question: does a screened window count? I have a picture of a cat that is very clearly behind the screen of a window.

ParticipantCan anyone give some CC on my Yosemite picture that might explain why it failed so hard?
Don’t know, I think that’s an incredible pic, I love natural scenes like that. One of those votes is from me 😉 The only thing I can think of after looking at it again, with the disclaimer that I am in no way a professional, is there there are not a lot of colors in there to attract the average farker. It doesn’t have the “oo, shiny!” factor. But this is fark we’re talking about, who knows.

ParticipantI am thinking of using this picture, but not sure if it leans too much to the red spectrum.. http://flickr.com/photos/23816487@N03/2806061020/sizes/l/
And how do I post a picture here? it never seems to work for me..

ParticipantGot nothing, and don’t want to download any more software, my computer is full! (working on fixing that..) I think I’ll sit back and admire everyone else’s photos this contest 😀

ParticipantI’d be a little nervous going to an airport here and taking pictures.. What with my luck, I’ll be arrested as a potential terrorist

ParticipantWhile I like the model shot, and I agree that without the silhouette it would be a totally different picture, I feel the fuzzy silhouette is the secondary subject of the picture. My eye is instantly focused on the clear model, and then secondly notes its relationship with the photographer. I think it is a great shot, but I’m not sure it fits what we’re looking for.
/my 2 cents

ParticipantI don’t know about saturation.. no photoshop skills at all here, so I can’t say anything smart about it. But no duplicates makes sense to me. Farktography (to me at least) is about constantly challenging yourself to come up with new ideas each week and actively photoing, not about sitting on you best shot for each contest. Every week I have to ask myself, how can I be better than last week? How can I be more creative? Don’t often succeed, and I’ve never gotten into the top 10.. or 20.. or 30.. 😆 but I have a ton of fun trying 🙂
But I can see why someone would want to reuse pictures that could apply to a different contest if it is a really awesome pic. But that isn’t as challenging.

ParticipantWell, I’m asking because I’ve just honeymooned on a cruise, and I’m trying to figure out if I can use any of the docked pictures or not.. So I guess something that can fit a huge cruise ship can be considered a terminal.

ParticipantThere’s two “Go With the Flow”s in the FSM? Not sure what the difference is, but I thought I’d be the annoying one to point it out 🙂

ParticipantIs a dock considered a boat terminal? I’m having trouble finding the definition of boat terminal, although i have found it in enough instances to know that the phrase does exist.

Participantdust gets everywhere. It’s like sand when you come back from the beach.. you’ve NO idea how it got into some places, but somehow you’ve carried the beach home on your person 😉
