well for tonight i’m going to have to rely on desaturate. turns out my latest camera won’t do B/W 🙁
and yes, i’ve had the camera for 3 years and am just finding that out.
Usually you are better off converting from color. Why throw away all the information contained in the color image?
you’re talking to a guy who broke his photography teeth on Tri-X. and then spent a couple of years in a (mostly) B/W darkroom.
i don’t think in digital. to me a B/W setting on the camera means it captures gray scale like film, not that some software in the camera does a conversion.
yeah i should know better and when i really stop and think about it .. ok, we found the problem.
I actually wanted to shoot all my shots for this week on film, unfortunately, the closest I came is 1/2 roll shot through my Holga. Which I havent developed yet because I am too cheap to waste 6 shots.
I only shoot RAW so I have to convert all my shots in post anyway.
