The sad part is both my parents were scuba instructors, and I got certified years ago. And they have underwater photo equipment. None of this does me any good since I live in Phoenix: FAIL. Maybe I’ll talk mom into participating since she’s now a fark member.
September 26, 2010 at 7:05 pm #32340olavfParticipantSpeaking of, I’d be surprised if Deveyn doesn’t take this one hook, line, and sinker. What with is scoring a sweet jorb bulding a network infrastructure in freaking Micronesia and all =P
September 26, 2010 at 7:09 pm #32341zincprincessParticipantI’m thinking Bass Pro Shops, myself. It’s easy, it’s close, and they have an aquarium or three.
I hadn’t thought about that. We have one of those close by too.
I have almost nothing in the archives for this one. Need to get busy.
September 27, 2010 at 9:53 am #32342deveynParticipantFunny thing about this is that as long as I’ve wanted a theme to be this much up my alley, now I have to choose three from thousands of photos I’ve shot over the last 18 months…
At least the “fish” designation will rule out the invertebrates, of which there are many.

September 27, 2010 at 10:28 pm #32343CuriousParticipantwell i took some photos of minnows today but except that they are fish the photos aren’t worth entering.
September 28, 2010 at 12:20 am #32344bucky_baconParticipantWanted to turn in a very early b-side
Looking forward to the real entries, b-sides, and – for this contest – the c-sides! Heheheheheh…
September 28, 2010 at 12:25 am #32345orionidParticipantThat’s awesome, BB!
October 5, 2010 at 6:46 pm #32346obenchainrParticipantThis probably counts as a “b-side”, but it’s probably my favorite under-water shot.
It’s a boat sunk off the coast of Maui to make an artificial “reef” for the submarine tours (which this shot was taken on). Some of the other shots from the set will work, though they’re more “blue” than anything (gotta love deep-water spectrum shift).
October 8, 2010 at 2:02 am #32347kashariParticipantBack in August, Kestrana voted for no tentacles, does that rule out Jelly Fish then?
October 8, 2010 at 5:21 pm #32348ennuipoetParticipantJust back from finishing shooting for this week…it will take me the rest of the week to get that smell out of my gear!
Thankfully, this is a Fall thread!
October 8, 2010 at 6:58 pm #32349ElsinoreKeymasterlol you can thank JustKat for it being a fall thread instead of a summer one!
As for jellyfish/nonvertabrates, the description simply says fish, so I’d say jellyfish should count. If Tiffopotamus wants to jump in on that, that would be great, but we’re running short on time to limit things before the contest.
October 12, 2010 at 3:27 am #32350KestranaParticipantIt’s a nice favor to warn me if you’re posting tentacles!
/pathological fear of tentacles
//no shit panic attacks

///octopi is right outToo much Japanese hentai porn as a young girl, eh?
Tentacles are some good eating.
Jellyfish are in though, right?
October 12, 2010 at 3:42 am #32352KestranaParticipantActually it has to do with being lost in an aquarium as a young child but I’m sure the hentai didn’t help.

My bad.
