ParticipantActually it has to do with being lost in an aquarium as a young child but I’m sure the hentai didn’t help.
Sounds JUST like a manga story to me!

ParticipantQueenBee:
I vote no tentacles but that’s just me.
Seahorses, eels and sharks should all be allowed though.I think I’ve got two ready and no tentacles, I promise, kestrana.
/I don’t like them either.

ParticipantIt’s a nice favor to warn me if you’re posting tentacles!
/pathological fear of tentacles
//no shit panic attacks
///octopi is right outI’ve got a couple jellyfish photos on my short list FYI. I don’t know if they count as the sort of tentacles that creep you out, but I wanted to put it out there just in case. I can give you a preview link if you’d like to see them in advance.

ParticipantHahaha I appreciate everyone’s warnings; you can enter whatever you like. I’m just stating that I won’t be looking at (and consequently voting for) anything with tentacles or tentacle-like appendages. I’ll probably make orionid run interference for me.

///octopi is right outToo much Japanese hentai porn as a young girl, eh?
Tentacles are some good eating.
Jellyfish are in though, right?
While jellyfish are not true fish, they have fish in their name, so they should count. Sharks and seahorses are fine, too. I think fewer people would think “crustaceans” when they think fish, unless they’re posting crayfish, which has fish in the name. Or maybe even shrimp. There’s enough ambiguity as to what the average person would lump into the “fish” category that I’m not really going to be too concerned with specific phylla, genus, etc.

ParticipantMy only worthwhile b-side. I love this shot of my mother in law’s cat but decided to save this one for another contest.

The family is going to the aquarium tomorrow. It will be too late for this contest, but any advice on shooting in such an environment would be appreciated.

Nice cat/fish pic! I can understand saving it for…I did, I did tee a puddy tat, perhaps?
Due to the illumination of the aquariums I was at, I had to use ISO 1600 (as high as I can go with my anon xTi), and exposures of 1/100th to 1/200th second. No flash–it’s worthless at an aquarium. Tough to get, and I’m less-than-thrilled, but…they at least fit the theme.
I ALMOST went to one of those fancy aquarium spots, where the lighting would have been far better, but I opted to spend the $20 on a couple shirts instead. Didn’t feel much for this contest, unfortunately. But one can’t be thrilled with all themes, I suppose.

ParticipantOkay, U-Man, The frog-gulp was pretty cool, but I’m going to have to admit that I was expecting to see the stereotypical Field and Stream cover-worthy Bigmouth-breaking-the-surface-to-snag-a-spinner shot.
