ParticipantInteresting idea Yugoboy. I’ll have to think on that.
A couple more hot off the processing line:

More buffalo (same as the other buffalo)
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone – 3 image HDR plus a little work in Color Efex Pro as well.
Found this while driving out to find a spot to photograph the cycling group on the last Sunday I was there. Quite like how it came out.Barracuda
ParticipantTwo more, the rest (of what I have processed) is on my Picasa albums (see Sig) in the Montana, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons albums respectively. Hope to spend time time this weekend going through most of the rest of the Yellowstone shots at the very least.

ParticipantThanks Bender, the location is better known for it’s morning golden hour shots, and believe me I tried for that one too, but the ceiling was on the deck with intermittent rain all morning so the Tetons were barely visible – so I was double thankful for having decided to go scout the location the evening before at got that shot. I have several others from that evening that still need touchups before being uploaded.

ParticipantWho’s got a good article on astrophotography processing? First quick stab at one of my shots from Yellowstone (no darks, just Lightroom processed)

ParticipantTrip is coming to an end, but that’s alright, I’m ready to be back home in my own bed about now. Last day here I decided not to ride as I strained something in my left knee a few days ago and the climbs they had planned did not sound like a good idea. So instead I drove out to the top of the first climb and took photos as the rest came up and over the top. Also took in the Museum of the Rockies, which has a great collection of fossils and complete dinosaur skeletons on display.

ParticipantSo here I was standing on the wall at the Snake River overlook remarking to another photographer how the trees have grown a bit since 1942 when Ansel Adams was there in 1942, blocking the view of the full curve of the river as we can’t get high enough. As we are discussig this another guy walks up saying he’ll get high enough… just about the time I was about to remark something to the effect of “you’d need a helicopter” – he opens up a hard plastic case to reveal a DJI Phantom Quadcopter. I got a couple shots of it airborne, but sure enough, it got plenty high to get the view…

ParticipantHad an eventful first full day here in Bozeman. Feet are informing me they are not happy with this sudden hike, bike, hike some more, stoop in all sorts of odd positions all day long thing I pulled on them today. Met up with hunches this afternoon and headed out to hyalite south of Bozeman. Water was low at the lake, but we found plenty of photo opportunities regardless. Finished up just before the rain came in, saw but no photos of a great sunset from in the middle of a downpour. Finished the night with some local food and some local beer.
Oh, and loving the heck out of my new 10-stop ND, had much fun with that today. 🙂
Oh, and hunches, the reverse camera on the car started working again when I got done at Walmart. Go figure.

ParticipantSo where’s the photos?

ParticipantAlright, photos posted, some great competition already this week, looking forward to seeing what the rest of ya’ll come up with. Hopefully I’ll be able to get somewhere by Saturday evening to vote. Printing a couple of things then calling it a night. Peace out.
