As I am always short on time, put me down for pushing Farkstronomy out a week.

I probably can’t offer much. I tend to do my own, but in my mind, 70’s and 80’s glass is “modern without the better coatings or electronics” glass. Vintage is pre-60s.

If it’s not something I’d feel comfortable, tackling, and I was particularly attached to it, I’d probably be here asking the same question. Otherwise, old glass is relatively cheap. If it’s not sentimantal (ie. I have a 200mm prime that I learned to shoot with and used to take photos of the Space shuttle challenger when I was four. Book value on the lens is $50. Sentimental value is irreplaceable), I’d just try to buy a new one and hawk the old one.

Yes I guess vintage may have been a little off chronologically . Not terribly sentimental but it seems people have caught on somewhat to the idea that manual lenses from this time frame are a good bargain, prices have gone up significantly since I acquired most of mine. That and I sought after very specific glass and it was not easy to find, and having watched over the few years since that hasn’t changed.

Mainly I just want some confidence in the person who does the work. I barely have time to use the stuff let alone do the work. I promised myself that this outage I would actually perform some astrophotography which will absorb what little time I have if I can pull it off at all.

And yes, what orionid asked, moar details please:

Oh, man. I have so much old crap and no time to shoot it. :/

I feel your pain man, missed the last two contests. I may make a concerted effort to enter this one though.

So yeah, it works off of bibliostats. The bookmarklet is open source (I think) so maybe there’s any easy fix for zenfolio. I’ll put it on the plate with the other thousand things I have going.

Only found one grievous use at the site:serbagunamarine.com claiming to distribute “free wallpapers”. Their contact page does not work (go figure). Probably not worth my time to try and track them down.

The funniest was on a couple of gun forums, someone posted my “Knife to a gunfight” from Apples vs. Oranges. LOL.

Thanks very much for the explanation / detective work CISS. All makes sense to me. I’ll give bibliostats a try.

Apparently the script does not like Zenfolio, all I keep getting is “Images cannot be smaller than 9 by 9 pixels.”

CISS, so you’re taking it easy on Yugoboy by not telling him to set the dial to amps and “test” the meter by putting the leads into the 110v socket? Where’s the fun?

/I keed, DO NOT DO THIS.

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless.
Without my rifle, I am useless.
I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me.
I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will…

    My rifle’s name is Charlene.

So what was this here about, now, anyways?

I think Real Fark (tm) is bleeding over into Farktography.

Now who can argue with that? I think we’re all indebted to Chupathingie Johnson for clearly stating what needed to be said. I’m particularly glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

Definitely like the last two over previous set. The flowers seem to bring out some warmer skin tones (or your processing, not sure). Better expressions, better framing.

I suppose Yankee fans are the Texans (state not team) of the baseball world. Loud, undeservingly proud of something they had nothing to do with and cannot wait to talk to you about something you don’t care in the least about.

*ahem* I’m not a Texan, but I’m getting close to a quarter century here (half my life, God help this mountain boy). There are pros and cons.

Also mostly Texan. We certainly have no monopoly on loud, overbearing types,.. a few of my best friends are very “Texan”. OTOH they’d also give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. Just as I’m sure New Yorkers would do,.. did do during Sandy and 911 to name a couple. On balance I’m glad I’m here. Not much of a City Boy, although it’s nice to visit one now and again.
