if you do a lot of printing i can 100% recommend a continuous inking system and pigment inks. a little colour management tweaking but it’s worth it. i use epson printers but there are systems for other printers too

will look for the urls for the system & inks

It’s hard to narrow it down but I really like the postcard idea. Would we have them printed like real postcards or do like my friend does and just draw a line down the back with a sharpie, write on it, and then mail it?

i like the postcard idea! you can get 4 (non standard sizes on an 81/2 x 11 page) and write greeting & addy on back. stamp it and send it. easy peasy

Well, I told Andrew we needed that access and he SAYS he put it on his to-do list. It wouldn’t hurt to have a few emails affirming “what your mom SAID!!”

    *rolls around the room laffing*

i have a son like that!

    *gives DrewsMom the secret handshake*

    *continues rolling*

Yep. Farktography is the best thing about fark. I also like to see what my votes are in relation to others’–and some of the ones are downright awesome. I told Andrew that he needed to make the farktography links as visible as the photoshop ones. It’s hard to find a link to go back to the previous contests. The first one I ever saw was the fire one, and I was just glued to the screen. Great pictures out there!!

    hiya,

for now i guess we just have to keep the farktography website bookmarked till the glorious day that we get our own visibility tag 😉
tfer grabthar photoshopped us a really cool one but i don’t know if/when we can use it

    g’night

of course. i’m just really excited about it!!! and have no problem with my address being available. i think that when it gets to the implementation stage you (we) should include a sheet of paper with the participants names/addresses on it, and then as we send the camera on to the next person we make a note of the frame # that we shot so we can match faces with places when it gets posted. of course, if we mail it in order, figuring out frames should be pretty simple.[/quote]

oh god yes! we have to keep at least *that* organised ;o)

if people post here that they’re *in* then we can keep track of the list of locations and mail it from closest place to next closest place, if that makes sense.

maybe at this point we can just say if we’re interested in participating. i haven’t thought the whole thing through, like how people feel about privacy issues. if people want to participate there would have to be an address even if it’s a just post office box number.

Thank you, thank you all, but you have no idea how little work I’ve done, so really, not an issue.

you’re definitely going to be beered if you’re ever in nova scotia!

so, may as well mention the “Pass the Farkamera Project” eh? hehe

i propose to buy one of those disposable cameras with say 24 or 36 exposures, then anyone who wants to participate can sign up and we’ll send it around the world. one shot each then the last one on the list has it developed and uploads the pix or sends the cd for one of us to upload (details sketchy at this point but you get the idea) so we can all see the pix.

i did have a look at them in the store and found there is a bewildering array of choices. i’ve never used one so could use some advice re: the best one for the job?
