Definitely some kick-ass pix showing up… but also some pix that seem to show a bit of “unclear on the concept of ‘down'” lol. Oh well, pobody’s nerfect.

Technical question: When posting and you have already done the “comment” twice, how do you correct when you still don’t have it right? I get so frustrated when I make a mistake yet again and the system won’t let me make another correction. Or am I missing something?

awwww. ask the mods nicely to delete it and try again? not necessarily in that order 😉

edited to add: you can always un-check the “don’t preview before adding” (or whatever) button before you hit “add comment” after you’ve previewed it so you can preview it again. did that make sense?

I think that the worst Farktography-related feeling is having a contest for a theme that you suggested and then not having anything to submit for it. Worse than 2-vote entries even. Which, incidentally, may occur this week. I need inspiration. Quick!

heh, me too for Day Late… I really had a few ideas… waaaay back when I submitted the original thread. But now I’m going to have to go find them because i felt like there wasn’t a lot of enthusiasm for the idea and it would never become a contest. D’oh! 😀

YES, definitely say what contest you meant the picture to be for!

I, too, find the concept of using contests before your boobies tempting, but I don’t think they should count, alas. I would have loved to participate in Trees and I know where you’ve been… but alas, before my time. I think we should keep to that rule. Though, as said, no way to police it and I don’t think it’s worth any skull sweat thinking about it. 😉

to answer that other question which i think i just did, i think it’s okay to take new pix if it’s something that you thought of already in context of a past theme but didn’t shoot because the contest had past.

you may not use b-sides in the sense that you actually took the picture and considered it for the contest when the contest was running. we had a contest for that. however! you can go back through your archives and say “why the heck didn’t I think to use THAT picture for X contest?!”

Mopsy – you CAN enter this, and you still have time, even if you want to take new pix not sift through your archives. Go back through the contests and pick a favorite or three and go take pictures as if that contest were this contest. Say to yourself “if X contest were this week, what would I do differently?” or go back and take the pix that you thought of and didn’t bother to take because the contest had already run, or take the pix that you thought of when the contest was running but didn’t take because you decided to go a different direction. See? Not impossible at all. 🙂

I find it strange that my chain pic is doing better than my storage-tower pic. I mean, I *like* the chain pic — playing with depth of field and taking pix of rusty things are both quirks of mine — but I rather thought the storage-tower was more “minimal”. hmmmm…. not that I’m complaining about my overall number of votes, mind.

i struggled more to get into the groove than in choosing. so these are more discards than b-sides for the most part 😉

In no particular order… Oh, and most of these aren’t even sized for popping, much less posting, so if you have dial-up, don’t even bother lol. I just didn’t get that far with most of them.
