Elsinore... I don’t mean to pick nits… but wasn’t “the shadow knows” supposed to have the shadow as the subject? or am i totally looking at your picture the wrong way? (I do have the sun at my back right now… 😉 )

edited to add: olavf has corrected me saying that the difficulty was that whatever cast the shadow couldn’t be in the picture. so nevermind me! =P

it was submitted of approval of FF 3.5 but so far that hasn’t happened. until it’s approved i’m not going to 3.5 since i use the heck out of it.

I used to have that but now just use farkit. 😉 and i have the addon i mentioned that just does the right click, no menus or anything, one push of the button and there i am. =)

While I am going to pop-link my referred contests, I also found a FF add-on called InstaClick that makes it so any link you right-click on pops a new tab. I have loved this add-on. 😀 Nice deal for those of us without special mice!! Or is it mouses in this case…?

we already agreed you have to name the contest your pic is for. *shrug* we don’t have to make a rule of providing links; there’s too many rules already. I’ma do it anyway, though. It gives one’s picture a context.

I agree, enough rules already. If people don’t name the original contest they are only hurting themselves.

You’re right, but I think we did agree that you should put the contest name at the least with your picture… how else would voters know what the heck the pic was about? I think, personally, i probably wouldn’t vote for someone who omitted that information. I can live without the link; if I’m that curious, i can look it up. 😉

Heh, no just more difficult. I put the themes on my calendar every week, and put each theme in its own folder, though I didn’t always do that by date, still it was by theme name regardless if the date was there too… so knowing what themes I’ve participated in would only be slightly more difficult without FSM. But, having said all that, I did use the “show contests” scroll bar to do a quick and dirty “remind me again what the heck I’ve been doing”? 😉

On another note… I wish I had a crystal ball and could know which contests other people are going to use, so I could choose pix that would stand out more. Also I wish the voters were a little less “oooh shiny!” sometimes, because I have a picture I LOVE that would have fit in the Brown contest, but I don’t think I’ll be using it because it’s a little subtle for a farktography contest. 😉

It’s my feeling that a not-too-busy picture is also good? But i guess that’s true for color too. =P Sometimes things that look busy in color look less busy in B&W. I’s learning! lol

Keep desaturating your pix, clouddancer, and see what looks good! I’m still developing my eye for what will look good B&W *before* I take the picture, but I am learning…

corsec – The picture can be taken ANY time after… ideally you should think “damn that would have been good for ___” either when you shoot or when you get it on your computer and see how it really looks, but I’m not the thought police, so I suppose if the pic was taken after and it works then you’ll get away with it. 😉

Heh, almost every week there is at least one picture I would vote for if the person had enabled voting – this week included.

I wouldn’t think of giving up. I sometimes have bad runs, and sometimes have good runs, but the point is what you said: I’ve learned a LOT by participating in farktography; the learning and the fun is more important than the votes… but getting those top ten places is, I have to admit, especially fun! 😀

I have to admit that i’m frustrated by the pictures that have little to no ‘down’ to them that have a lot more votes than mine do. I understand that my pictures don’t have “grab” and that’s really why they don’t have the votes, but it’s still frustrating. 😳 🙄 🙁
