ParticipantReading this thread makes me hate being broke.
Yeah same here.

ParticipantI am having problems getting anything I consider “dark” or any of the other descriptive things for this contest. I have been trying but Nothing seems to me like it will fit. And they were mostly not great photos anyway with bad focus and crappy lighting. Gonna try more after while but as of yet I have nothing for this unless I go with Lego people. and even then they seem more funny than dark to me.

ParticipantOh and congrats on the new camera. I almost derailed this thread completely there for a while. lol

ParticipantNo it’s opened and has been used once outside that I know of. It nowsits right next to my bed because this was the room he stored it in beefore I took over the room. I pointed it out the window and looked at the supermoon but the batteries were not in it. It has 2 different eye pieces and a small battery pack but no ac adaptor unless he has that somewhere other than with the scope. Even the instruction book is right here next to the scope.

ParticipantYeah he has said he would totally let me take the smaller one out and use it But I am not sure he would go for me borrowing the 5″ without his being there. It would need a stack of batteries to use the tracking unit. Once I get a job I planned on buying batteries for it and getting him to use the damn thing before It turns to a pile of dust in my bedroom. I just looked up the t-mount thingie and it’s not to expensive either for the two things it seems I would need

ParticipantWhen you guys are talking about 11″ you mean the mirror at the bottom of the scope right? My room mate has a Celestron with the computerized tracking stuff but I think it only has a 5″ mirror. Lucky bastard won it in a raffle and never uses it. And he has a slightly smaller one in a closet down stairs I am thinking about trying to talk him out of. It hasn’t seen light of any kind in the year and a half I have been in Nevada.

ParticipantWell I learned 2 new things today. I had never heard of this type of camera lens before and It seems you all have had no luck with them So I won’t think to hard about getting one If the chance pops up.

ParticipantI feel for you guys. I usually have the same problem. Not doing to bad with my Manhattan Nv. shot. I am pleasantly surprised again this week. And yet again there are a ton of great shots this week including Farktographers Deep Detail and Ravs cobwebbed Stainedglass along with a bunch of others.

ParticipantI hate to be the complainer but SageC 2012-02-16 01:00:53 AM thinks Dodger Stadium – April 13th, 2010 is a place of worship. I wish people would read the first post before posting.
This post is funnier when combined with your avatar.
LOL it’s pretty much how I felt when I saw that entry too.

ParticipantLots of fantastic photos from all over the world. I’ve got the camera, now I need to get about that “travel” bit of the equation.
My stained glass window is from Northern California from when I lived there and the steeple is a few blocks away and Manhattan Nv is only 50 miles by road or 30 if you can fly bird like. I too wish I could travel the world but will have to make do with what I have for now.

ParticipantLooking at the shots, I’m pretty stunned. However, it’s feeling too religious in that thread. Part of me wants to take a picture of a science book in front of an athiest center (do they make those?) just to balance things out a bit.
There was a link on Fark a while back about someone wanting to build one but I think any bar would fit the bill nicely for most atheists. Or in my case the great outdoors works just as good.

ParticipantSo if foot washing rooms are ok, does that mean the photos do not have to be exterior shots?
Geeze I hope not. I didn’t see anything about exterior shots only in the description and chose one from inside looking at a stained glass window.

ParticipantI don’t mind the size limit as long as I can post them at something close to original quality. I am not gonna re-upload this weeks but next week I will remember the new limits.

ParticipantEh until I can find it or Fark changes the posting guidelines page I will just keep doing things the old way.
