re: cheap CF cards, i think it’s worth it to spend the extra $$ to get a Lexar or SanDisk – i bought a 4 gb no-name card before going on my honeymoon and lost about 50 pics or so (i’m guessing) due to a write error on the card. the few times i’ve used it since then i’ve always had one or two images get corrupted. I’ve never had any problem whatsoever with my Lexar cards, and actually there is a rebate going on through the end of June right now – i just got a 2 gb x133 write speed for $25 after the rebate. not too shabby!

i actually have been reading the strobist site, and planetneil as well for on camera flash usage – both super helpful. i just got a 580EX (upgrade from my 430ex) but i don’t have a stand or umbrella or any of that stuff yet so i’m a bit restricted…i DO have an off-camera sync cord so I can get the flash off the body, but no pocket wizards or anything like that just yet.

i’m still trying to get fill flash in bright sun figured out – i know how it SHOULD work, now it’s just getting the flash to do what i think it should be doing!

actually, please don’t – it kills the bandwidth if people are posting 10 pictures each just to show what they *might* have entered.

i shoot mostly with a canon 20d but i also have a lomo fisheye and a holga, plus a polaroid back for the holga, so sometimes some funky stuff sneaks in. 🙂 my older stuff was mostly shot with a canon elan 7 and before THAT it was a Canon fTb.

I use bridge/photoshop for everything right now. once i update Roger (my computer) i’m going to upgrade to Lightroom and really get this whole RAW workflow thing i keep hearing about figured out. 🙂 my signature is added in photoshop, plus i add a copyright notice to my metadata. I think in the flickr photoshop group there is a tutorial on making an action for a watermark.
