It’s not really about Photography.
You don’t even have to know how to focus,
You don’t even have to know how to focus,
You don’t even have to know how to focus,
The secret is to shoot every thing either out of focus or in Infrared or maybe both!
I’m Done! It was really infuriating. EnjoyAugust 19, 2007 at 9:37 pm #12998QuickSilver
Participanttoo damn many…….and still didn’t pick the right ones to get a respectable number of votes. 😳 just proves that decent kit doesn’t make a decent photographer,i guess.
Don’t forget the tag line for the site. “It’s not photography, it’s Farktography”Your abilities as a photographer will be little measured in contests that have submissions taken with cellphones and votes proffered by the same folks. I like your stuff and have the same hard time with the entries that are out of focus, off theme, 10 seconds of thought put into it and then shot with a cell phone that gets more votes than a shot that I labored over to get the lighting right, the composition right and hours of thought that I might put in to find something to fit the theme.

ParticipantThe shot that I thought would do the best of the ones I posted for the contest actually was my highest vote getter this week, albeit only 6 votes.

ParticipantCurious, I think it was me because I looked at them and found that they were not updated for the complete contest last week. Thus my looking caused the quantum particles making up the entire farking web to change its state to that of something totally unrecognizable and blew everything.

ParticipantI think it is sabotage. Some of those street lights looked like UFO’s in disguise and I would venture a guess that the aliens are trying to fark with us. Control of the statistics is only the first step.

ParticipantI really liked this shot and I wish now that I had used it instead of the failures that I posted to the contest.
There is one other reject on my flickr page if anyone is interested.August 16, 2007 at 12:34 pm #12991QuickSilver
ParticipantThis one I rejected because the darn thing started looking more like a UFO than anything and I wanted it to be recognizable.

ParticipantI rejected this because the longer I looked at it the worse the focus got.

ParticipantQuickSilver by not having voting you get left out of the statistics. or at least some of them. to me it’s not worth it.
I just checked the FSM and the numbers have not really been updated since maybe Thursday night, although the date at the bottom of the page says 8/15/07 and 5:04:pm.
I went to the actual contest and here is the difference in the results for my 3 pics last week.FSM 16…..8…..4…..votes totaling 28
Contest 19…..9…..6…..votes totaling 34Is this a glitch or what?

ParticipantSome of the streetlights do resemble the heads of the aliens in War of the Worlds.

ParticipantI seem to recall seeing that. Very Funny. My semi-serious question was just to make sure that close ups would not be thrown out as UFO’s (unidentifable [as a streetlight] farktography object). As I stated, I am probably thinking this thing to death as I am prone to do.

ParticipantI am probably thinking this to death but that’s nuttin new. Is UFO defined as Un-identified Farktography Object. Meaning not to shoot such a closeup of a street light that you lose the fact that it is a street light? Or perhaps it was an inside joke prior to my arrival here.
This is a semi-serious question.August 15, 2007 at 2:22 pm #12981QuickSilver
ParticipantHaven’t decided which of the 6 I will cull yet. Started with about 20 shots and now I have 6 left to decide from. It is so hard to decide. Not that I cannot critique my own work but The best shot is not always the best depiction of the theme.
