Gulls on the wing (though I’d crop out most of the duck portion, Swan 2, and Green Heron get my vote, Barracuda (bastid…now I wantz a green heron!). The GBR #2 would be my choice were it not for any one of the other three.

Awesome contest this week; seems participation is climbing again, with corresponding voting figures these past couple weeks. I did a photowalk for a riparian habitat and we may have a new member next week (may being the operative word, of course). Congrats to RagnarD!

Meanwhile, I was out today, and I captured this one. It’s a meg in size. I refuse to cheapen it by downsizing (until, of course, there’s a contest in which I can use it). I’m pretty sure you won’t see a better dragonfly image all week, or month even. I’m actually proud of this one.

Full resolution, cropped down to fill the frame. Hand held f/10 ISO200 1/250th second. Though his back seems bright, it’s not blown, per Elements and DPP at least.
