Participantwhile I use and love my flatbed epson for medium-format 6×6, it is true madness to try and use it for 35mm. Once I got a dedicated slide scanner, the jump in time saved and frustration avoided, not to mention quality scans, leaped by multitudes.

ParticipantI’ve got a Nikon slide scanner that I picked up at a state surplus sale for next to nothing.
One thing about buying slide scanners – they seem to have held their value fairly well, so I would imagine that you could recoup nearly all your purchase price if you buy one to scan all your slides and then sell it on ebay.

ParticipantDamn, that’s a good price.
I have on order a timer remote and a angle finder/viewfinder multiplier from a Chinese supplier that sells on ebay. Can’t wait to get them.

ParticipantI used to love CP and ND/Grad filters, but I don’t think I have used one in a couple of years. I don’t know why, it just never occurs to me to put them on, but I carry them everywhere.

ParticipantI had nothing. I bought Brach’s Circus Peanuts. I now have entries.

ParticipantI love the color temperature setting in RAW post-processing with Canon’s software. It’s like suddenly having every hue filter ever made all on one slidebar.

ParticipantI seriously have never messed with the white balance setting on my camera. I leave it on auto and adjust post-process.

Participantshoot RAW, never worry about white balance again.
