I started with a Concord 4306z (garbage), then a Canon a620, and now a Rebel XT with:
18-55mm Canon (garbage)
50mm f/1.8 Canon
70-300mm Tamron (garbage)
28-70mm Tokina f/2.8 (garbage)
16mm fisheye Zenitar (manual everything looks macho, but feels annoying)
28mm Quantaray f/2.8 (nice, but only works wide open on digital bodies, did not know before buying)
and just recently a 28mm f/1.8 Canon USM (sooooo farking nice)
and a Sunpak 544 (soooo farking nice)

Lessons learned:
Buy nice stuff the first time.
Clutch autofocus systems are annoying as bonk.
95% of the people looking at my pictures can’t tell which camera I took them with.
There will always be a nicer camera, and the one you have right now is always good enough.

i have both a compressor and a coil roofing nailer. believe me it’s not a chick magnet.

or maybe it’s the fact i don’t work for free.

and neither the framing nailer, the brad nailer nor the crown stapler seem to get much in the way of positive attention either. or i may just be whipping them out for the wrong women.

Of course no one’s going to fall for a nailer, those things have the sex appeal of a jar of mayo.
Now, crown staplers are sexy, but you can’t just whip it out and expect their imaginations to do all the work. You’ve gotta sell it man.

Say you’re putting some plywood sheathing, you don’t just slam it up there and ka-thunka ka-thunka ka-thunka it with your stapler then leave for a beer. Slide it around first, make sure it feels right, don’t be afraid to step back and spend some time looking at it. Then, when the board and stapler are ready, then you ka-thunka ka-thunka ka-thunka, and you don’t stop until the board is happy. Remember, that board may never be stapled again, so these memories have to last a lifetime.

Note: Just like crocheting, photography, fansubbing, and everything else I do, this doesn’t make people like you anymore, it just makes them interested in what you’re doing, and want to bang your stapler.

Lemme tell you man, chicks go crazy for guys with roofing staplers. Crazy.

Note: Chicks, like all people, probably just like the idea of someone reshingling their roofs for free.

Talent schmalent. Some of the best photographs don’t even place in the top ten because most people, IMHO, vote with their hearts rather than a critical eye. If you’re female, show a little skin next week. 😉

And staplers with the skin. People eat that stuff up. Even if you’re a guy. People will still eat it up, or at least discretely hide it in their napkin.

I just wanted to say fark you and the horse you rode in on for not putting Sigma on the list. Then I thought better of it. So I will just ask about Mamiya, Leica, Olympus, Cabo, ect. 🙂

It always amazes me how fast people are in getting their photos up. I had one that looks like Elsinore’s electrical tower, but was too late. Then, was gonna throw down a man hole cover…but Staplermofo beat me too. it.

I am just too slow today. 🙂
