i’d be down with that – the one pic i have is of crosses, but i am in no way, shape or form even a little bit catholic. or even religious. OR spiritual.

if you don’t mind, stapler, i’ll just lift your text from that post?

Could you leave out the part about the dance?

*tries to do the bort dance, looks like an eplilectic manatee being tasered*

Maybe we should remind everybody in big bold letters that this is a just-for-fun photography contest, not a personal beliefs contest, and that the photos in and of themselves don’t necessarily act as an endorsement of the pictured belief system?

    *really nervous about this contest*

Take the picture while traveling as close to the speed of the car as you can?
I’m sure your alderman would add another couple lanes for you.

Get the car further from the background and use a wider aperture? It’s not motion blur, but it might look that way, in the dark, if you squint right.

Have him drive even closer to the background so the difference in speed is more pronounced.

Set your camera on a tripod and pan along with the car, though that might only work with telephoto lenses. I’m not sure how distorted it’ll make it look having never tried it and using only reckless conjecture.

It’s really late and sloppy because I am incredibly lazy, but they’re all (most of them) here: http://staplerforums.com/pics/

It turns out taking 50 pictures in a row just trying to document things is really boring and tedious.
It wasn’t a fun project at all, and the results are horrible. It was a disappointment in every way.

he’s being polite enough, but his comments are very general and he is asking at large..

he is giving me the impression that he views all the photographs here as a viable heap of talent

Looked like a harmless and tentative opinion poll to me.

I’m pretty sure people that don’t have the authority to act as representatives of their companies aren’t the ones who’d go out of their way (or the rules of polite society) to help it.

It’s a good point about what the images are being used for though.
I’m not crazy about the likes of Fred Phelps or paper-clip supremacists using my images.

Do stock photo places let you say you don’t want your images used for political, religious, non-stapler-paper-binding, etc purposes?

Come to think of it, I really like the idea.
    I have the following questions:

    1. What’s a good service that won’t screw me over (ie, not let me use my own images) and will give me lots of money?

    2. What sells well? (blank background stuff, colorful stuff, everyday objects, crazy objects, etc)

    3. What will land me in jail for trying to sell (other than child porn)?

    4. Are there any risks or hassles I should know about before going for it?

    5. Sucking as much as I do, should I even bother?

As a lazy, untalented photographer in dire need of money with no commitments or further expectations I love the idea.

That and I’ve never made a dime from it… and I really like dimes.

I have a couple of lamps that are replicas of surveyor’s tripods, so that would work perfectly…

Is that the photographer equivilent of using an old server rack as a bookshelf?

    Woe to the dial-up users.

3 pics is nowhere near enough.

So I tried it out over the weekend and ended up starting a fire. I guess two halogen lights inches from a fabric-covered stand is a recipe for disaster.

This contest has convinced me a farktography party is a bad idea.

    You’re a bunch of dirty, injury-prone freaks!
