The A700 should have crazy macro ability on its own, I don’t think a macro lens on top of it would help much. In fact, you’d probably be able to focus closer than the macro lens would sit at the wide end.
I have an A620 with the lil 58mm filter adapter and even +1 diopter macro lenses are too strong to use unless I’ve zoomed in all the way, and even then it’s a pain in the ass to get the autofocus to work. It might work better on the A700, I don’t know.

If you want to take macro shots without bumping into whatever you’re shooting you could use a teleconverter (I’ve never used one, so I can’t say how well they work with your camera).

for night shots
If your tripod is really cheap and wobbly, use the time so you don’t get the wobble from the button push messing up your shot.
That, and just fool around with it. The LCD should give you a rough idea of what your exposure will look like, so start from there and fool around.

I was drunk and naive, so we went to a stall, and boom, immediate pants drop. The guy was totally naked in 3 seconds. I just snapped the picture and died a little inside. (NSFW)

I am not thrilled with all the hashing and strife regarding the farktography site that is going on.I am glad that thread was made private. Let the mods and admins sort everything out.

Hey, mods just want to post photos too. Some of us don’t even sort our laundry.

All those harsh rules about banninations and not talking about banninations on Fark make so much more sense now, in a horrible, life-ruining kind of way.
Don’t worry mikemikeb, everybody that was working on it before is working on it again and all is well enough. Things were ugly and unsubstaniated and nobody should see that. Input is always welcome, so don’t be shy about it, even if it’s something like “staplermofo should stop posting staplers in every farking thread!”. It was the tone and the subsequent regret that got it pulled. It was just pulled too, not deleted.

I think we’ve got enough people now to not have to worry about risking losing some, and I think the longer you’re at it the more you think on your own anyway. I mean, with all you darn talented folks running about us bums have to work harder. I think the main thing to worry about now is making it fun. Fark being fark, any non-serious thinking should be hilarious. So, in a way, I’m with you on the forks idea. I’m convinced that the staplers contest was the best contest we’ve ever had because so many people thought up the funniest stuff and the subject was loose enough to allow for all sorts of diversity. I’m not crazy about contests where people don’t feel like scrolling down to where the liters post because they’ve just seen 50 pictures of ________.

This cute kids one is killing me. I had to cold call a cousin I haven’t spoken to in years and ask if she wouldn’t mind having her kids pose with staplers.

I’d really like to see photoshoppers take someone’s 3 photos and combine them. It just strikes me as neat. I guess I’m just a sucker for the possibility of 300 staplers photoshopped together.
