*ahem* +1 for orionid‘s awesome upside down idea. *shaking head*
May 8, 2011 at 7:59 pm #15908orionidParticipantIt happens. I’ve done it before, too. 😀
June 5, 2011 at 10:49 pm #15944ravnosticParticipantI hate to prod, but with less than 20 days till our last scheduled theme starts, I’m getting jittery and developing (pardon the pun) a shudd[tt]er. Can we release a little flow from the hopper to ease my pain? Go the distance? Build it so I will come? Start farming in Iowa?
June 5, 2011 at 11:11 pm #15943KestranaParticipantElsinore is the person who does theme scheduling and she just posted about how she is very busy with RL the next week or so in the Scannera thread. She will get to it before we hit the last contest. I’d suggest go out and start shooting for whatever you don’t have in archives already and get a head start, you can reasonably assume any themes in the fast votes is likely to be scheduled soon.
June 13, 2011 at 2:41 pm #15839ElsinoreKeymasterWhat Kestrana ^ said. If it’s in the Hopper, it will be scheduled, so there’s no reason you can’t shoot for anything on that list. But I have updated the schedule now (finally), and hopefully I’ll be back to a more regular update every couple weeks.
To that end, a couple things:
1) How do we want to handle It’s Raining Men/Girls Girls Girls? There are suggestions to do either a combined theme or back to back weeks. The thing’s been in the Hopper for a long time, and it’s the last of the non-fast/immediate vote themes at the 8 vote level.
2) Is it time (already) to consider bumping up the minimum number of votes to 10 for a non-classic theme to be scheduled? We have a huge glut at the 9 vote level, and obviously a lot of participation in theme discussions and voting.
June 13, 2011 at 3:12 pm #15838orionidParticipantI’d be okay with raising the bar to ten. As far as men/girls, what about a “two girls, one thread…..” errrr….. “two-for-one” week? Same week, two threads, normal rules apply to each thread.
June 13, 2011 at 3:23 pm #15837lokisbongParticipantI have no problem with raising the vote count to ten on non classic themes either. On the other question I personally would have an easier time with a combined theme I think.
June 13, 2011 at 4:02 pm #15836KestranaParticipant10 is fine with me.
I likeorionid’s idea of having 2 contests at the same time in 1 week but if that doesn’t fly, let’s just do a combined theme.
June 13, 2011 at 5:52 pm #15835ElsinoreKeymasterNot sure if we could make 2 contests at the same time fly. I have some concerns that the themes themselves will bring out all kinds of people to thread shit with GIS’s and softcore porn as it is….

You’re saying that like it would be a bad thing.
June 13, 2011 at 6:15 pm #15833ElsinoreKeymasterFor moderation, it would be 😉
June 14, 2011 at 3:08 am #15832KestranaParticipantWe could make it “Tastefully photograph the human form. Difficulty: No NSFW entries”.
August 25, 2011 at 11:48 pm #15965ravnosticParticipantDid I miss something? I could have sworn “Hair ye, Hair ye” had gotten hoppered some time ago…but I’m not seeing it. Am I mistaken?
Because I haven’t cut my hair since November in anticipation–and it’s 110+ degrees, and I’m hot, and I’d love to be able to let it go…
August 25, 2011 at 11:57 pm #15966KestranaParticipantHair ye, hair ye was in the hopper at 9 votes. When we upped the votes to 10 it was brought back for one more vote along with the other 9 vote themes and at that point it did not get further support so it was scuppered.
August 26, 2011 at 12:18 am #15967ravnosticParticipantWell damn. All this time I could have been enduring the heat in shorn-comfortness. Oh, well. I’ll have to grab some shots before I let it go, then.
