^ ^ nice shot. Think I’ve got my three narrowed down. Started with near a dozen possibles.

    edit:

never mind, that was next week’s that I had narrowed down. This week I’m still at a half dozen choices. (must stop looking at my landscapes album or I’ll be adding more too)

Thought about getting up early this morning and getting out to the lake at sunrise, but it was 32 degrees, so here’s a few from a warmer morning, and a couple from last night.

Alright, I found something to throw my hat into the ring with. If either are deemed non-farktography worthy feel free to de-vote-en-ate. I’m on a flight first thing in the morning to Cali to be with my wife and family for my father-in-law’s memorial service so I will be offline for the next few days. Should be packing right now, but having a vodka tonic at the moment instead.

The statues are very recent additions to the Deep Ellum area. I think it was either early this year or last year that they were finished. I only learned about them a few months ago when I saw a photo from another area photographer on G+. Going to have to make it down there again some time in the evening for some more shots.

I’m out this week, no shots and no time. I had one possible, but would have taken too much touch up to make it even remotely believable.

Got lucky with the fog. Wasn’t expecting it. The previous 4 mornings had absolutely breathtaking colored skies (seen from my office window as I toiled away at work), and was fearing Saturday was going to be a bust when I got there and the skies were clear and fairly colorless. But at the last minute some clouds rolled through and the fog on this field added a lot of character as well. The Parks & Nature – Landscapes album on my Picasa site have several more shots not here nor shared ‘there’ yet.

I’ll so totally take a 6th place for a photo that was taken within 4 hrs of post time.

Alright, I’ve got three, nothing resembling spectacular, but at least it’ll keep my submission ratios up…

Ok, I’ve gone from nothin to 3 ‘throw my hat in the ring’ shots in 12 hours time. Took a few shots on the way in to work in the morning (swiggly lines of light!) and then threw a ND filter on this afternoon and managed to get a few ‘artistic’ shots that may get me above the 50% water line in the votes, we shall see.

Rick from TodaysPhoto.org asked if he could feature one of my pre-fall photos on his website. So, today’s photo is my photo:

Can’t decide if this one that just came across the transom is subby’s or a web find (I’ve got my suspicions, but I’ve been burned before):

photo on fark profile and photo on kenmist.com appear to be a match. As does claimed location, etc.

It will not be removed unless I have problems with it in the future. I believe it’s made of Ti, so hopefully the TSA won’t have too much fun with me. We’ll have to see. As far as how they got it in there, I’m guessing a big ass hammer. 😮 Actually, I have purposely not watched any videos on clavicle fixation that are out there, but from what I’ve been told the ‘nail’ is inserted from the shoulder end, through the break. An internal screw is tightened in the nail that makes the tip anchors pop out and makes the flexible part of the nail where it bends rigid. Then the shoulder end screw is put through it to anchor that end. I have one main incision that is above where the break was so that the doc could align the bone. Then two small (3/4″ size or so) incisions, one for where they inserted the nail, the other for that fixation screw.
