Sorry about that. The trailing period got included in the link. This one should work: http://www.farktography.net/index.php

(I also edited the link in the previous post.)

    Dude…. your gramma’s hot!

Thanks, I’ll be sure to pass that along, Yugoboy. 😉

OK, here’s a summary of what’s going on. As Choc points out, there are two issues at work here:

    1. There’s only one login page that works and it’s here: http://www.farktography.net/index.php. That should be your bookmarked page. If you’re already logged in, you can just click “Farktography Forums” from the Main menu on the left; otherwise, the login boxes will appear on the right and you should be able to login successfully there.
    2. The “Keep me logged in on this computer” feature got broken sometime ago. Cookies are being set to expire when the browsing session ends, so if you check that box, you’ll stay logged in only as long as there’s a browser instance running. Once all browsers and tabs are closed, you’ll have to log in again.

But here’s where it gets confusing: After the site rebuild, at least for a while, this feature was working. So, if you logged in during that period and checked the “keep me logged in” box, you got a cookie that will last across browser sessions and you won’t have to log in every time.

However, if for any reason you clear your browser cache and wipeout your current cookies, you’ll never get a permanent cookie again and will be back to having to log in each time. That’s the situation I’m in and it sounds like a lot of you are as well.

I captured a trace of the problem for Zeke a little while ago, but I suspect that he, like most if not all of us, has other more pressing needs to attend to right now and will get to it eventually.

I interpreted the theme description as both Yugoboy & Elsinore have – “no people” means only that people can’t be the thing in the photo that satisfies the “hot or on fire” requirement, not that there can’t be people in the photo at all. I do, however, see how it could be more strictly interpreted, so aside from adding a qualifier to the description somewhere (but you can’t edit posts on Fark, can you?), I’m not sure what to do.

I don’t know if I’ll have time to get something together for this one or not, but either way, I’m OK with people being in the shot as long as they’re not the “hot” subject.

Great photos, ‘Cuda. Really makes me want to get back there again soon (not that I didn’t already). Haven’t been to Yellowstone since my early twenties and have been itching to get back and spend more time there ever since. I’ll have to browse your galleries when I get some more time…

Sounds like a great time, Pope. Thanks for sharing the photos.

We’re heading to Europe ourselves next month for a Greek island cruise. We’ve never been, so we’re really looking forward to it.

Your photo of your great-grandfather’s grave was especially poignant as my grandfather just passed away last week. He was in WWII. I setup a website for my family to grab all of the photos I had taken of him over the years, as well as some older ones that I had scanned in. This one’s probably my favorite:

That’s him and my grandmother. He had written a note on the back that said, “I wasn’t expecting this one.”

Thanks for the heads-up, Choc. It was a database hiccup on the hosting side that got things out of sync. Should be fixed now.

Congrats, Lenny! I upgraded last year, so I know that feeling.

Also FYI: I’m heading to Girl Scout camp Friday with our troop, and I have no idea what kind of connectivity (if any) I’ll have, so I won’t be able to do the “official” closing message with the welcomes/welcome backs and congrats to top finishers. Anyone want to take that on this week?

I’ve got an evening football game (attending, not playing, if not otherwise obvious ;)), but unless the thread closes before midnight I should be able to get that for you, Els. Have a safe & fun camp!

I’ve heard of others here complaining about such things (maybe not quite to that extent, though), but I’ve never personally experienced anything like that. Maybe it is a regional thing. 😕
