Not trying to stir anything that doesn’t need stirred, but there is the option of ignoring particular individuals.
I don’t see why I am expected to take the high road that you didn’t. It’s pretty simple not to post garbage about me into a community of mutual friends, some of whom found this post distasteful enough to mention it to me months later. If you have something to say about me 3+ years later, surely there are more appropriate venues.
Thanks Elsinore. I miss chatting with you but in this election cycle I’ve deserted social media for my own sanity. 😀

/Then again, Tony Morrison’s Vag… comes with the core set.
One of my resolutions for the year was to get back into Farktography. Then I’m reminded of why I left in the first place.

So I’ll just post it here and return to my cave. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kestrana/8018472744/in/set-72157631554440038

I am in favor of anything that allows and encourages more participation and thus more voting.
I realize some people get very competitive about Farktography and work hard at developing their own ideas. You wind up feeling very possessive of your work. That’s only natural but: no one has an exclusive license on photographing anything (staplers for instance). If we allow early posting, someone might rip off your shot. I’ve noticed the Photoshoppers are really good about offering to delete entries that wind up unintentionally parroting someone else’s prior post. I think most Farkers would show the same courtesy for Farktography, and if the posters don’t self police, the voters will. You’re influenced already by everything you see and hear and everything you put out in this digital space influences others, so I don’t know what kind of purity we’re supposed to enforce by limiting the amount of time we have to post.
As for me, since I don’t have regular internet access and frankly I’m not driving 40 miles every Wednesday night to find a Starbucks with wifi (like I’m posting from right now), if the thread was open for posts right now for the next two contests, I’d be posting entries in them.

February 14, 2013 at 9:20 pm #50503KestranaParticipantActually I meant to include effects that would warp the image as well as the image’s color. Re-reading I realize that wasn’t clear. I’ll update.
February 14, 2013 at 9:14 pm #50483KestranaParticipantWhen you’re an artist working in the public eye or just in public in general you can’t expect decorum or editing of photos. Look at Makayla the gymnyst from the Olympics and her “quirk” grin. The best thing they could have done is ignore the doozy photos and not draw attention to them if they wanted them to go away. Although making a big deal about them guarantees free publicity out the ying yang so maybe that was the point and the whole thing is a publicity stunt.
And jeebus, she was wearing next to nothing onstage and she’s worried about a funny facial expression…? Priorities woman.

December 29, 2012 at 12:48 am #50203KestranaParticipantAs long as you remembered to tell them Nikons rule and Canons suck you should be a shoo in.
Agree

No
December 20, 2012 at 9:54 pm #49909KestranaParticipantSo, an old friend then?
December 14, 2012 at 5:17 am #49922KestranaParticipantI’ll try to find the original theme suggestion, but I can’t remember if colored filters on the lens were acceptable or not?
Sure, keep the theme as open as possible. Also doesn’t have to be red and/or green, just a familiar phrase was used as the theme name.
December 14, 2012 at 5:15 am #49882KestranaParticipantI did all the time before I became the moderator but I didn’t as much unless it was “needed” because I didn’t want to unduly influence themes and voting…but do whatever you want. You can PM me if you have any questions.
November 30, 2012 at 3:45 am #49630KestranaParticipantI would be fine with it.
