…and I liked your pics as well, especially #1 and #3. I really like the way you’ve used the railings to create lines.

August 24, 2006 at 9:22 pm #5668neonstzParticipantI agree, maybe even set the limit to one.
August 23, 2006 at 9:03 pm #5634neonstzParticipantIf you are using an SLR and have access to an external flash, try using the flash off-camera.
August 5, 2006 at 1:12 am #5550neonstzParticipantI haven’t taken many concert pictures, but I’ll try to give some advice. There is no need for a tripod or a monopod unless you’re standing way back with a long tele. To freeze the action you need short shutter speeds, so handholding is fine.
The light will be tricky. The light meter will be fooled by the stage lighting since it can’t adjust the exposure fast enough. Be prepared to get some over/underexposured shots. Fast glass is nice, but if the light is good you may get away with slower zooms (f/4 etc). You’ll need to use high iso (1600 and faster).
I have some concert pics at

January 5, 2006 at 9:11 am #3615neonstzParticipantIf overseas shipping is fine I’m in!
January 3, 2006 at 12:34 am #4096neonstzParticipantThe D200 is a bit more expensive than the 20D, but if it is anything like the D2X it is totally worth it. I’d wait for the dpreview.com review though.
Canon is supposed to announce their 20D successor in february or something, so if can you wait until then the price of the 20D may drop a bit.
You should also take a look at Nikon and Canons lens lineups to see if one of them meets your need more than the other.

December 22, 2005 at 2:01 am #3564neonstzParticipantI heard that Aperture was disappointing, and the only other one I’ve familiar with is iView MediaPro. Anybody ever used Extensis Portfolio, for example?
I’ve tried Aperture. I don’t like the Apple “pro interface” (buttons and stuff are too tiny). I wasn’t impressed with the speed either, but that may be my graphics card. I’m still using Adobe Bridge/Camera Raw/Photoshop. There was an upgrade to Aperture today however, so maybe I should try it again…
