ParticipantI got my current adapter from some random on-line shop at amazon. I have to say–it’s a lot better than what you get from Celestron. I have a Canon, but I bought a Nikon mount so others could enjoy; search for “Opteka T-Mount Adapter”; it’s like 20$ or so.
You won’t get a closer mount for a D/SLR, and it’s far better in regards to proper culmination (the screwing ‘feature’ on the Celestron rig is a joke). You should lose 1/2″ to 1″ of focal length, which should get you plenty of wiggle-room to get a clearer shot. If you’re using a right-angle viewer; remove it.

ParticipantOkay, it would suck among the voters; but just to qualify, if it’s called the “Wild Duck Cluster”, and I don’t see the duck, is it okay?

ParticipantHere’s the most recent stack; conditions weren’t ideal–there was wind, a haze from a dust storm the night before; the pollution from assorted state fires…but given all that, I think I did okay. The Eagle Nebula, home of the ‘Pillars of Creation”, which are more-or-less (ok, less) centered here. Hubble does it better, but I can’t be displeased. It’s at 1/2 res, so too big to post here. Here’s a smaller version I can post here:

ParticipantNo, I figured I’d get an offer, Yoyo–but not one so danged cheaply!!! I’m still counting it as a ‘score’, damned the advertisments!

ParticipantI was thinking both, Orionid; if it evokes an animal, but is not an animal….well that’s my line of reasoning for the theme at least.

ParticipantDinosaurs okay? They waz animoos, once, too…. (not talking the real bones, but recreations)

There’s always a hater.
And there’s always Lake Havasu. It might go well with the voters. A little fan service never hurt.
…hrrrrmm…There’s some shots at Bartlett Lake I never think about…and Tempe Town Lake…. okay, you got me. Add .67 to my .33 for a full-on 1.

ParticipantI’m excited for this one! I took my best avian photos earlier this year, and next Saturday I’ll be on a riparian aviary photowalk. Plus, it’s friggin’ birds. It’s bound to have lots and lots of participation juju, with accompanying voting goodness (I suspect the competition will be awesomely fierce.)

ParticipantAfter uploading and checking out all the other entries (good stuff!!!) I’m glad I went with something besides the flowers. Would have been three (at least).
I certainly considered this before composing mine (from TIFs, 183Mb images take a LOOOOONG time to save!). But in the end, its the only other subject where I know where in my drive to find all the images, besides the astro-stuff. I’d be a-huntin’ pecker elsewise. I figured it would be up against a lot, though; went b/w to ‘stand out’. Yeah, hows that working out for me? 😥

ParticipantEash…didn’t mean to cause a ruckus; I just recomposed to 20. NBD.

ParticipantRe-reading, “say 4-20 images”; please tell me 24 isn’t too many. I worked hard on this project. I’d hate to be dq’d over a 20% extravagance, but I can crop if I must. Not that it will matter; it’s always the ones I actually spend time upon that fail…

Participant20 is the upper limit, huh? Damn. I’ll have to cull some shots…

ParticipantI’d think it’s okay, emiliogtz, but it’s not my place to say. It is my place to say it’s a cool composition and I like, very much.

ParticipantSince I only have a ghetto-phone that isn’t interwebzed, I never got into the twitter thing. I think I technically have an account, but I’ve never used it. I can’t compress my thoughts to 144 characters. I’m too wordy.
