My thought was to show them making noise.

I saw this site http://www.brighthub.com/science/space/articles/3959.aspx , from their map at the bottom of the article it looks like any place West of Louisiana should be able to see it.

Heads up – I just read an article (see link) that said we’re going to have the largest and brightest full moon of the year this weekend.

Looks like a good start to me. Although I’d give it a little longer shutter time to brighten it up a bit.

Have you got a longer lens/telescope or an idea for an aesthetic framing to take it to the next level?

One of my friends recently got the Canon PowerShot SD1100IS. I got to play with it for half an hour and I really liked it, if I was in the market for a P&S I would get one without hesitation.

Edited to add: but then if I checked out the links you posted (invariably AFTER I post) I see that you basically picked out the big brother to my suggestion. Durr…..

    *facepalm*

I’m not a an expert but that looks pretty well FUBARed. If you’re still covered by the warranty I’d send it back ASAP.

I know its already been (frequently) mentioned in here but I also really like my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. It does almost everything I ask of it quite well and it’s cheap (I got mine used for $300 from KEH.com). I really couldn’t ask for more. Except maybe a free Canon 70-200 f/2.8 😀

here with my OK, if you could find a single pic of mine worth using, subject to the standard single use and “my name on the pic” clauses…

    Ditto.

    I wouldn’t bother, I don’t think there’d be any interest. 😆

    Great pictures BTW.

My first thought had something to do with a pirate wench but there’s no way I could see that coming out anywhere close to safe for fark, much less SFW.

Ok, I’ve got both an explanation and a possible solution for you.

The last Canon DSLR added to the SP2 camera raw plugin was the 30D. They added the 40D to one of the early CS3 camera raw updates (and of course the updates aren’t backwards compatible, that would be logical).

The solution (hopefully) is to download the download the standalone Adobe DNG converter which (if it works as advertised) will convert you .CR2 files into the “standard” .DNG files. These DNG’s are supposed to be backwards compatible to at least CS1 – however I have never worked with either the DNG converter or the DNG’s themselves so your mileage will definitely vary.

In addition, I don’t know how much of the “raw” data (white balance, exposure, etc.) is kept or lost when converting to DNG. Let us know if/how it works for you.

    are “I”s also fair game?

Very odd. If you’ll tell me your operating system and CS2 version number I’ll put in a couple minutes and see if I can find any quick fixes.

Sure, got to the folder on your computer

    C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS2/File Formats

You should create a new folder in the “File Formats” folder, it doesn’t matter what you call it. Move the old “Camera Raw.8bi” file into the new folder and copy the downloaded “Camera Raw.8bi” into the “File Formats” folder. It should work now.

Let me know how it works for you.
