ParticipantPeople can post them on your behalf.
And the FSM can be jiggered to allow for a proper accounting.
The Farktography Team is pretty full-service.

ParticipantBubblegum and bailing wire, but it’s back. May be sporadic over the next couple of days.
schnee
ParticipantOh crap! If there’s anything you need, let us know…
About 4 weeks without any of my other responsibilities to get it re-architected / ready for universal deployment.
And then a magic wand to make my family forget that I abandoned them for 4 weeks.
Seriously, everything is cool – this is just a minor little hiccup. The FSM is on the same system that my wife gets her email – I have plenty of motivation to get it back, but can’t until the remodel gets to a steady state. S/b by Friday, if not tomorrow.
schnee
ParticipantThanks soosh, but alas, the FSM isn’t quite ready for redeployment, and it really is a full-on application. I’d need MySQL, Tomcat, and Java 5 or 6, and that’s just the start.
Basically, I’m not confident I could get it rehosted in time (due to its architecture more than anything else). Thanks for the offer, however.

ParticipantDoes that fit the theme?
Would an open mouth? That is one fine photograph. Nice lighting control. Plus, I can see both the inside AND the outside.
schnee
Participantthis is good stuff
man, my entries are gonna suck in comparison.

ParticipantI think an All SilverStag Month would be pretty fun

ParticipantYou’ve seen his photos, I think you know the answer…
schnee
Participant…The real question is whether combining them after the fact in more of a ‘multiple exposure’ way than an ‘HDR’ way would be allowable for this particular theme. My initial thought was no, but if someone were doing an HDR-esque treatment that happened to include both open and shut versions of the hood shot, then the result would be a ghostly multiple exposure HDR shot which I would think would be kosher for this particular theme.
Wow, that is a blurry line. But, I agree with it. Since HDR is allowed, and since HDR is combining multiple exposures, it seems allowable for things to move (or open or close) between those exposures. As long as they are combined in an HDR fashion.
Doesn’t quite feel right – allowing the HDR combining but not simple combining seems off somehow – but I think it (HDR combining) should be allowed even for images that have elements that move between exposures.
schnee
ParticipantYou could get a white balance card (google ‘whibal’) and incorporate that into your workflow.
‘Mofo’s suggestion of a light box seems like a good idea – you could easily line a cardboard box with black felt.
A google image search for “hand model” shows a lot of black, white and gray backgrounds.

/but only because I can’t afford it
schnee
ParticipantI miss the AZ monsoons. Nice shots caradoc! The first one posted is particularly stunning.
schnee
ParticipantMy guess is that the kids/pumpkin pic would get votes even though the orange isn’t as dominant as the others you posted.
But what about a kid who IS a pumpkin?

Which one is the kid?
schnee
ParticipantI thought I’d offer them up to the Fark masters for a critique.
I’m not a master, but graphic artistically, blue+orange is a go-to color combination. The pipes image has this, but compositionally, it seems too symmetric or something.
schnee
ParticipantThree different versions of the same picture.
Looking for input.
I like the first one best.
