ParticipantSo far, I have one for this contest that I *really* like; so much that I’m having it printed 20×30.

ParticipantI’m not sure the ratios even change that much: we train ourselves to see more and probably we shoot more; so we end up with more keepers that way. I think the quality of our keepers improves with time.

ParticipantHeh, Curious, I thought I was the only one around here that remembered that trick.
It’s fun sometimes to deliberately get the WB ‘wrong’: see here for a recent example from my playtime last week.

ParticipantMy reading is that almost anything that’s multiple plants in the ground would be included. I’m going to shoot some Hosta beds along the Indy canal walk.

ParticipantI agree on the assloads of talent, but I tend to think of it in terms of Imperial assloads rather than metric assloads.
I’d really like to find out what sort of image makes for a good PS contest ‘O’… I agree that the run -of-the-mill arthouse stuff is probably not what someone like YSV or lukket looks for, but agree that it might be good to get some sort of idea as to what they do need.

ParticipantYou’ve got an eye for composition, Uranus. Don’t be too hard on yourself; some of us have been doing this for 35 years or more. It *will* come. It took me a looong time –years– before I felt confident enough to enter a contest.

ParticipantThe ‘scene’ modes on that e-500 caused me to eject soda from my nose.
