ParticipantI think we need to make it a rule U-Man is no longer allowed to use his children as subjects. And maybe NBD‘s pug too… TOO CUTE
Thanks, K. A guy at work just commented that I’m going to be bummed when my kids are all past the cute stage. I agree. But there’s no way I’m going back to having a baby in the house!
/I would be fine if it happened…but it’s not my first choice.

Nice word. I’m going to try to use it today.

ParticipantI was trying to get a front – middle – end trip of my cat last. But she was too fast and wouldn’t keep her tail lifted for the ‘end’ shot. :/

ParticipantIt could be worse, though. Imagine your job is sitting at your computer all day and then try saying you’re going back down to the computer to “play” with your photos after dinner and see the look that gets you! 🙂
Hell. My job entails looking at and manipulating images all day on a computer. Then I come home and play the same way. I find that I sometimes try using a Photoshop shortcut at work or a McKesson shortcut at home. 🙂
Got another one done…

ParticipantI so wish I had started these earlier. Work is getting in the way. Family is coming to my house for Turkey Day and I’m gonna be getting ‘the look’ from Mrs. U-Man when I’m doing these instead of cleaning up and such.

ParticipantAre all photos in the trip supposed to be taken on the same day, or can one put together pictures that were taken at different times, but still the exact same subject?
The intent was to shoot with trip’s in mind. But photos from different days are OK.
U-Man
ParticipantEven those are OK – as far as I’m concerned.
Any objections?

ParticipantI’d say that we have some sort of consensus that borders are OK for this theme.
U-Man
ParticipantI don’t think I have the authority for an end-all answer. But, given the somewhat processed nature of this type of photographic presentation, I would be inclined to allow all sorts of borders. I made my first one last night and didn’t even think twice about placing three pics on a blank background and then painting the background black – resulting in a wide border.
So, my input is that borders of all sorts are allowed for this theme. The photos should still be the important part though.
Elsinore? Kes? NBD? Anyone else?

ParticipantNo problem with B&W and/or color. Have at it.

ParticipantTo everybody with the nice comments about sticking with the more difficult theme, thanks right back. I’m glad it seems to be working out.
But I’m in the same boat as a few of you. I pretty much suck at this right now. Like rav describes, there’s just a lot of stuff going on. I think the options for change have some sort of exponential mental twisting ability.
I’m not happy with anything I have yet……yet. 🙂

ParticipantI hate posting my stuff early and I hate bothering people by asking in advance but U-Man would you mind telling me if any of these would be illegal, because I’m totally confuzzled what’s actually the determination now:

ParticipantMopsy, don’t feel bad.I’m struggling with it too. 🙁

ParticipantYou guys… *shakes head*
Perhaps I should stop worrying about stepping on toes with this one and just stick with the initial wording – with one minor change to get rid of the layout clause.
Take three different photos of different parts of the same subject and combine them as a triptych for a single fark-sized entry. As usual, you can submit three entries. Difficulty – The subject must be alive.
It sounds like y’all just want me to make a farking decision. Right? So let’s let it stand as above, recognizing that a full-view plus two parts is OK.
gambitsgirl – yes. Your three are OK.
Any layout is OK as long as it has three panels. A single background photo with two inset panels is OK. -
