ParticipantFor those who do not know enough about depression, I invite you to read this:
http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/
It’s about as accurate a representation as I have ever read, AND it’ll make you laugh.
Wow. I enjoyed that. But it made even more clear to me that depression sucks.

ParticipantCongrats Mopsy. I was rooting for you…well…kinda. 🙂
/really, I was.
//You guys are causing me to count my blessings. I’m sending out some good juju for y’all. Hope you receive it.U-Man
ParticipantDayum, U-Man; I think this contest is over with your first entry! The voters are going to go nuts, and totally forget all the other shots posted after (except probably your second one).
sleeping; your IR shot is awesome, I’m sure you want it envotenated?
Thanks rav. But I see through your veiled compliment to the fiendish jinx that lay beneath. 🙂
JK. Seriously, thanks. It was a fun shot. I did it twice. The first time I used a couple old bananas that were on Mopsy’s counter and put them in a puddle on the road. That was OK. But I then picked out the curviest three ‘nanas I could find at the store and made sure one had a bunch of stem for a head. I set up the shot in a small creek behind Mopsy’s house. That was a so-so idea because I ended up kneeling and almost laying in super-cold creek water in order to get low enough for a good reflection. 🙂
After getting them on the computer, I noticed how I could have done the shot better. But I was D.O.N.E.
And you know the voters are quirky. We’ll see how it plays out.

ParticipantComcast is completely out at my house so I just posted from Panera. Actually, it is sort of cool to have mine together as a group. 🙂

ParticipantI had a borrowed epiphany so I’m OK now.
/it was my own epiphany about the borrowed part, not a borrowed epiphany.
U-Man
ParticipantWell. Isn’t that just some cool shit. Fun!
/and thanks for the links.

ParticipantI’ve got blue, I’ve got new, got options for old, but borrowed, I don’t have a clue!
I call dibs on borrowing U-man‘s kids. You could borrow a stapler.
It only counts as borrowing if you keep them for a whole week.
I was actually considering borrowing a friend’s kids. Would that count? Or is it stretching the concept a bit?
U-Man
ParticipantHmmm. Example(s) please.
U-Man
ParticipantNo biggie. Just wondering.
rav – real life can bite sometimes.

ParticipantHey, I was just over at G+ and read the novel of a post by ravnostic. (thanks for the shout-out btw) He mentioned the new sizes that are OK by fark standards. I knew that the max file size went up but I didn’t know the max px increased too.
I can’t find this info on fark. It’s hiding. Can anybody point it out?

ParticipantU-Man, are you using a Cokin Star Filter for those images? Cool shots.
Nope. No filter at all. Just f/22. Really and seriously. The Riviera I shot last night. Using about a 2 minute exposure, I ‘painted’ the front with 15-20 hand held flash shots and then I crouched behind it with a flash just peeking out and shooting back at the camera.
Here’s a silly over the top version I considered using –

ParticipantI like the lighting of the angled one better. But I like the composition of the level one. Overall, I think the composition wins for me on this one. My eye keeps going to the pole coming out of the roof on the angled one.
Tell Tony that he has a pretty sweet ride. 🙂

ParticipantOK since no one wants to chime in about the model car thing. What about pick-up trucks. Are they allowed?
😛
